Cracked screen, what are my options?

I stupidly let my 3 week old 6S Plus slip out of my hand and smash face down onto a tiled floor, the top bezel in the corner is all cracked and there are huge cracks down the entire face of the screen. I don't have insurance because I'm an idiot, what are my options? I've rang around and Timpsons want £260 to replace the screen which sounds absolutely ridiculous to me! I'm sure you can buy the parts on eBay to replace it for less than £20, how difficult is it? Are there any other cheap options available to me? My girlfriend has offered to put me on her gadget insurance but I imagine making a claim now would be fraudulent. :o

Have you got a quote from an Apple store?

Depending on if there's other damage besides the screen (even though the phone works fine) it could be between £146 and £326, I haven't gotten a quote from them though those are just the prices listed on their website. My nearest Apple store is about 20 miles away which makes it a bit of a pain in the arse to drive there if they can't give me a quote on the spot or it ends up being £300+

With it being so new, I would go down the route of an official repair with apple. You don't know what might happen further down the line where you might need your warranty.

You're right guys I'll book it in for them to give me a quote regardless of cost it'll be cheaper than buying a new one, moral of the story is to have an insurance policy, use a screen protector or don't drop your expensive phone. :p

Check you don't have any cover with your bank, or maybe covered under home insurance?

Don't have any cover with my bank unfortunately, home insurance said they won't cover things like mobile phones. My girlfriend popped into the Apple Store yesterday and spoke to a "genius", they said just bring it in and they'll have a look at it on the spot, typically costs about £150 for a replacement screen apparently so I'm going to call in when they open tomorrow. Fingers crossed it gets sorted same day for around that price.

I would double check the home insurance as it if you cover outside the home it might be covered unless there is a specific exclusion in the policy.

I did ask but they said they won't cover things like mobile phones and other small devices. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I did pop into Apple and get it fixed today, ended up costing £130 in total, the guy said that anywhere other than official Apple repair places won't be able to calibrate the screens properly, not sure if that's bull or not. He mentioned something about the Home button as well, apparently the fingerprint reader won't work again if you get it fixed by a third party but I've read that you can do it yourself as long as you transfer the original Home button when you replace your screen so again that was probably rubbish.

Pleased with the price just not the fact that I dropped it in the first place.

Calibration is a load of lies, the part is either genuine apple or a Chinese knock off. The difference is in the part quality, nothing to do with calibration.

Apple devices have the screens all individually calibrated, how do you think they have such accurate colours? It's not lies at all.

Accurate colours? I can put 2 of any model phone next to each other and can tell a difference in colours, usually noticeably more blue than yellow whites etc. If they do calibrate, they do a pretty bad job.
