Title.

I live in Spain and have visited the UK a couple of times. I absolutely love UK and I feel much closer to UK than to Spain, but ask me any questions you have.

I am prepared to any hostile comments or questions as sometimes in Spanish forums a british user apperas and is greeted with unpleasant comments xd

I will try to be as unbiased as possible (except for internal Spanish politics).

What do you/the Spanish think of the 'EU project'. In other words, why, in particular, are Germany and France so determined for a United States of Europe, with one language, one currency, one military, one legal system, one government etc?

Only question I could think of.

And btw I am so impressed at how well mainland European's speak English, it really puts us to shame and makes me feel dumb. I suppose it's not exactly 'our' language, anyone is free to learn it.

Madrid or Barca?

hahah nice question. I am considered a Madrid fan, but when with friends im ALWAYS the guy baiting trying to spark off arguments cuz I think its funny.

I do think Barcelona has ruled football for the last decade or so. Im not from either city so I can be unbiased. I want Madrid to win, but because I love football I want barcelona to win.

But I should add that whenever Barcelona players are losing they lose that composure that they pride themselves and start bitching about just anything.

The first time i discovered that was just a big shock for me, but still I kinda support them, but just with a (i don't know the idiom in english, but i want to say that i support them but not like before, i will keep a close eye to them).

one language, one currency, one military, one legal system, one government

hahah nice joke, in Spain there is a lot of lowlifers who will never learn other language.
If you take the language think apart I'd say there is not strong opinions for or agains the united states of europe cuz anyways we dont have any voice on it (as sad as it sounds).

The last paragraph I will take it personal. You guys ****ing rule the world. Dont ever say that you feel dumb. If only you knew how (in this case, my case, spain) spanish people feel when a foreigner tries to speak spanish (even if it is barely understandable), we ****ing love it. If you google it you will find it that for whatever reason we love people trying to speak spanish. It just feels so great and because (i dont know why but it is this way :S) you are a foreigner and are trying to speak spanish you are so ****ING WELCOME and you will make friends in just an afternoon.

We don't have secrets or second thoughts about new people. we are quite simple xd, if you are nice and funny you will get along just great. We may not have a sense of irony that you guys have (i wish we had, but we are not that clever in that regard).

Maybe this last paragraph seems hostile but it is not, people's relationships from every country differs and you guys are cold as **** :D

Potty mouth

Urban dictionary tells me that means someone who can't really speak without swearing?

Well for us it's true, due to us not having such the deepest vocabulary we tend to use swearin words to reinforce our point (this sentence was so spanish, was like translating spanish to english using google translate).

Sometimes a tomato is a tomatoe !

Care to explain please? :)

Fish paella or meat paella ?

FFS, I hate that thig known as 'fish paella', meat pallea is the thing dog xd.

My ex wife is spanish and when ever we went to see her parents in spain (mallorca) her dad insisted we always have fish paella !

To this day i have never had a meat one :(

Gibraltar, eh? What's it like knowing that you'll never get your grubby little paws on it?

We give you Ceuta and Melilla for Gibraltar. Deal? Just think about it, more muslims to your ghettos :D

To this day i have never had a fish one. This is how it is bro. Where i live we don't have 'paellas' (even the name makes me chuckle).

Remember, Spain is big, and the differences between regions are huge. I live in the very north of spain, and where i live it rains more and there is less sun hours every year than london. Do the maths xd

As you know many Brits go to Spain for summer holidays, so my question is...

Where do you go on your summer holidays? And have you ever considered Rhyl?

What was Spain's reaction when Andrew Sachs died?

How does Spain feel about the fact that the most famous Spanish person ever wasn't even Spanish?

Why is it whenever I eat squid in Spain it's tender and delicious, but anywhere else it's tough and rubbery? What do you do to those squid? Are they a different species?
