Fun/exciting car - recommend me?

Update.. ended up in this! Came up locally, spec I wanted and after a viewing I couldn't say no!

Wheels are staying
2007 z4 sports
60k on the clock
All stock bar wheels..

Massive upgrade from the mazda which is staying as a 2nd car for practicality reasons lol.

Shame it's not a convertible but it's a manual and has the best colour leather (how I miss the red in mine). Looking forward to seeing it in person :)

I couldn't find any nice facelift coverable that did not ask coupe prices. :O this I got for a very good price and it has been just serviced and motd!

I love the interior and the car goes very well! I know what you lot meant about creaking and noises from the boot etc area haha. It is a very loud and raw feeling compared to my mazda but that's what I was looking for so I'm happy.

I never quite understood why the coupe was more expensive but I guess that's down to my opinion that the convertible is the better of the two shapes.

But you cant argue if you got it for a decent price, serviced/mot and in a decent colour which is not that easy to do with the amount of them that are black black with extra black.

Well enjoy it, they are great cars, just take it easy if the temp drops again.

It's entirely normal that a convertible costs more than its coupe equivalent so you are already getting a better deal if they are just the same price.

I've never understood the Z4 Coupe, it has almost all of the downsides of the convertible but without the ability to drop the roof.

Look at the 3 series for example, cabs cost more.

I believe it's the rarity factor! They've sold 17k coupes in total.. and 180k convertibles. I do like the roadster with the roof down but with it up I can't quite get on with it, looks like a pram a little haha.

It has 59k miles, has just been serviced by TWG and motd with no advisories and has had the abs pump replaced a year ago. Full service of course, all receipts etc. Very good shape overall. Has a few small dings etc but ill sort those out. And wheels need refurbishment.

Coupes in z4 case are always more expensive. Talking 9k for a top end roadster and 15k for a coupe. Check the market. It must be the rarity factor and nothing else. Never mind the fact that many are specced with auto boxes. I found only two decent looking roadsters for sale up to 100 miles away that had the bits I wanted.

Of course if I was to get a pre facelift 3.0 it'd would have been much easier.

Woo! Welcome aboard grud! I like it including the wheels.

Thanks! Will take some better pics in day light

...15k for a coupe.

Which is quite scary as that isn't far off what I payed for my current car which was the second most expensive one I found (1st being that one with no miles on it for 50k+). Prices have to seem to have gone up a bit since I got my normal Z4 3 years ago now.

It is but that is top end, usual is more along the lines of 9-12 but still a couple of grand more than the roadsters.

You could pick up a rough m roadster for 15 ish but even those I believe are appreciating

They sold the convertible for more than twice as long and with a complete range of engines from an entry level 2.0i right up to the 3 litre (Plus the M power). The Coupe was only offered as a 3.0i, so these figures paint a skewed picture.

You just told me you couldn't get a roadster for less than a coupe so you went coupe - now you're telling me the roadster is worth 6k less. Make your mind up! :p

I know the answer - and that is that the roadster is indeed considerably cheaper. Therefore it's somewhat odd that you couldn't find a good Roadster for less than £15k.

£15k buys an E89 3.0Si which is both a coupe *and* a roadster and a fundamentally better car to boot.

No that's not what I meant, the problem was that there are only a few facelift roadsters for sale, many of them automatics which I did not want. The were two for sale in my price range with the kit I wanted but since those prices were getting close to a good coupe (roadster for 9k) I decided to go for a coupe simply because I prefer them to roadsters looks wise and I found one with the spec I want, local to me and the deal had to be done! Most coupes seem to come higher specced so it was easier to find one.

As far as pricing goes I was talking top end. The most expensive roadster vs most expensive non m coupe.
