Did Pewdiepie delete his youtube account? !! !

Haven't got time for clickbait drama queens like him, and other gaming channels which have went that way to get likes, subs, and views, purely to generate income rather than to provide decent content.

Never heard of him. Probably the YouTuber with the largest following I watch is The Amazing Atheist. I can't post any of his videos here though cause he's a potty mouth lol.

I have heard of him but it's only because of threads like these so you can see why he does stuff like this with deleting the alt account.

You see I don't like football......
I can't name 1 player for Manchester united. Apparently they are a big deal too.
Does gazza still play for Newcastle?

See how this works? Some people know about stuff that others could not care about.

Never understood the appeal with him, but perhaps its a generation thing, but as others have commented he has made a shed ton of money and I get the impression he genuinely enjoys what he does. Living the dream.....

I do subscribe to a few 'gaming' channels. AngryJoe and AVGN, but in all honestly they have started to lose their way in the past year or so (Angry Joe about the last 6 months).

Boogie2988 is generally interesting, and the guy's vulnerability and willingness to open up to other issues outside of the usual gaming stuff makes him much more appealing to me.

Totalbiscuit, I have never been able to get on with him.

Boogie2988 detailed how to work out a youtubers earnings once :

and baseline its (monthly views / 1000) x 80c

Apparently for some guys it can go to around 4$.

According to socialblade

PewdiePie had 123,621,000 views in the last 30 days.

So presumable thats around $99k per month at the 80c mark.

If that figure is true......wow!

I feel the same about AVGN, sad really as his stuff was great but he ran out of material it seems, Angry Joe needs to go back to him and 'other Joe', not sure who these new guys are but they seem creepy yes men who just agree with everything Joe says and way too many trailer reactions and movies reviews.

I've only just started watching boogie again as I honestly didn't realise Francis was an act at first but when he's being himself he's great

only YouTuber I watch religiously is Ashens, have been watching him for too many years and other then a few dud videos I always find his dry humour great.

I will have to try Ashens.

You are right about AVGN, his material dried up and then he focused on the AVGN movie. Now his cinemamassacre channel seems to be more about Mike playing games of yesteryear with one of his buddies. Boring

AngryJoe needs to focus on game reviews and nothing else. At the moment, he reviews :

1)Trailers
2)Movies
3)Movies with spoilers

and then games.......he needs to focus on what got him where he is. When he was on form he was hilarious.

I've watched a couple of game playthrough before just to get an idea what stage VR is at and came across PeeDewPie during that time. I honestly don't understand how anyone could watch his, or from what I gathered most youtube streamers with their overly high pitched voice and fake over the top dramatics.

I suspect this has to appeal to a younger generation that are more likely to be entertained by watching game play throughs. First soaps, then reality TV and finally internet content consisting of other people playing games or opening products. It's all beyond me.

Even my mum had heard of him. The who brigade are trying too hard.

No, I've genuinely never heard of him or of the other people mentioned in Itchy's post near the beginning of the thread.

People seem to forget that not everyone has the same interests and may not watch any of the same things ... I go on Youtube to watch things I'm interested in and have never seen any of them suggested or even mentioned ...

What a pathetic statement,
From what I get from this thread he's something to do with games and the last game I played was Time Bandits on the PS1, hmm I wonder why I haven't heard of him?
My Mum has heard of a lot of people you've never heard of but only because her little boy was listening & watching them.

Oh no, another narcissistic YouTube vlogger is throwing a tantrum.
Whoopdeedoo.

To conclude, I care only enough to post a sarcastic reply on my opinion that he's just another YouTube douchebag.

People are missing the point. YouTube has changed their algorithm that promotes paid videos to their trending section. Usually it consisted of really popular videos with tons of likes and views, now garbage videos and paid videos go up that have very little views or attention.

This was a great way of getting small youtubers noticed and bigger channels would get most of their views from the trending section.

Now that section is just for people who pay YouTube the most money.

This is killing YouTube channels both big and small. Yes Pewdiepie probably partly did it for selfish reasons but who is YouTube going to take more notice of, a small channel with a few thousand followers or Pewdiepie?

He was obviously trying to get Youtubes attention, they stand to lose a lot of money if he deleted his channel, I believe he was doing it for all of YouTube not just himself.

But what do I know, it's easy to hate on a successful rich person.
