Did Pewdiepie delete his youtube account? !! !

*** Video link deleted, pure clickbait. He deleted a channel with very few (in comparison to his main channel) subscribers ***

I don't personally like him and if he disappeared off youtube tomorrow I would not give a flying fig.

I don't like Markiplier either, something creepy about this guy not sure what it is.

I am going off Jacksepticeye fast also, its like they all in cahoots with each other.

Only ones that seem genuine are Robbaz and Boogie2988.

Youtube content creators are just the like the Coronation street or Eastenders of the 21st century.

I beg to differ. I'm at least aware of Corrie and Eastenders (Not that I'd ever watch them out of choice) however I've not heard of any of the other people in your post.

I watch MCM, Project Binky and a few music related channels but in general I don't get the obsession with watching people talk rubbish.

He deleted some second account of his which had under a million subscribers. It was all a big prank apparently......

Regardless, that is the perfect analogy. More children watch online content (Netflix, YT) than they do TV.

I quite like how he pokes fun at some of the Youtube trends, like the hundreds of 'my new car' vids. He made a parody which was actually pretty funny. He earns like 4 million a year, yet doesnt brag and rub it in peoples faces, which is refreshing on Youtube.

I don't get Youtube's biggest "famous" channels.

People watching other people play video games? Isn't playing them yourself the point of video games?

Vlogs - If someone has an interesting life, then I get that. However, people buying merchendise from their favourite "vlogger" I'll never understand. Is it like buying a t-shirt with your favourite band's name on it?

Patreon - Pointless. Why does it even exist? If Youtubers want to take donations, why do they need a company that takes a cut? Great for Patreon though. I wish I'd thought of it.

Youtube is great though. I think it's the single best thing the internet's ever been used for, and I've been online over 20 years now.

I still haven't and have no intention of watching a Pewdiepie video though. Ever since I heard of him flying his Phantom 4 over Brighton from inside his flat I think he should have been heavily fined or locked up and made an example of for breaking the law. CAA should have thrown the book at him.

There is nothing wrong with Patreon, its great for smaller Youtubers to get off the ground if they make good content and have a small following that want to support them. They only take 5%, which is very good when compared tio Twitchs 50% cut. Its a shame that the big Youtubers that are already making loads use it as a way to milk even more money though.

People playing games is more a Twitch thing. If the person playing is interesting and fun to watch then its kinda like watching a podcast centred around gaming.

Vlogging I don't get myself. Kinda weird watching someone else live their life.

It's like why shows like MTV Cribs existed, people want to know how their favourite celebrities live, vlogs are like a gateway into that. Pretty bloody easy to knock those out on a daily basis due to the non-existent production values.

Yes, but a bit more directly in many cases because the scale is usually smaller.

Patreon is a convenient and well known one stop shop for patrons and creators. They take 5%. Probably worth it.

Yeah it's pretty easy to film your entire day walking around with a camera constantly trying to come up with something interesting to do or see each day then spend two, three or more hours editing all the footage together.

Simple, thats why everyone does it and everyone has a massive youtube channel.

Are people being dense when they say they don't understand why people on youtube are popular?

Obviously they aren't as big in scale or as well produced as a TV programme but you have to be personable and entertaining to hold a viewership just like a presenter or entertainer on TV and just like entertainers on TV some of them have characters or personas they portray just like Pewdiepie. It's not that hard to understand and I don't even watch the moron.

He got popular by screaming into a webcam so to keep his fanbase he has to keep screaming into a webcam, that doesn't mean he is like that 'in real life'.
