I'm not 100% on this but I think in comparative terms the newest model costs more than the previous ones by a fair margin.
My wife's which I bought brand new back in 2010 was £22K which was for the 2L Sport Tech Coupe, which came with everything on it you could option. I think the new one with the targa top is coming in at around 29k for the all in launch edition. So 7K more in 6 years does seem a fair lift.
The Sport Nav RF Coupe (i.e. the equivalent) is £25.5k OTR, which is much closer. The RF Coupe also has navigation included (can't get it without) which the Mk3 wouldn't. The standard Roadster SE vs SE-L-Nav is over £1.5k, so it's really much closer than that.

Yep, the current one is a LOT more expensive than previous ones. The whole point in an MX-5 was they were cheap, simple, yet still as fun as way more expensive cars. But now they are getting quite close to Lotus Elise money when specced up! It's pretty much the exact same car it always was. So what justifies the huge leap?

Vox, when is that plate changing? We'll start called you Dr House if you're not careful![]()

I got a Sport Tech 2.0L new in 2010, granted it was a car the dealer had but it was £17500 (Assume RRP around 22K) if I remember correctly so I imagine there are still deals to be had nowadays.
It's a Fisker Karma. In my opinion not a great looking car but it's fairly unique alright.
