Newly single at this time of year

I have been a lone wolf for all of my 33 years. Why bother with girlfriends? All it results in is them taking all your assets you have worked for. The Western world is broken, just work your ass off at work and climb the corporate ladder and screw all human interaction outside work.

This is what I have done and I love it. No kids, no bitch will take my house and all my pension.

Lol it really isnt, I just talk about everything on the forum because my life is so tragic that I have nothing better to do. :p

GD salutes you, sir:

If you're happy with that then go you! :)

It isn't for everyone though.

But you'll die having spent your whole life at work which is sad to some people but if that makes you happy then who am I to judge?

Some people seek fulfillment outside of work and also want to grow old with someone/kids which will surely be better than being old on your tod, the corporation won't be sat with you then.

Also, what if the **** earns and owns more than you do? :D It's more common than you think!

There is no right or wrong answer.

I'd flip it around and say if you've not had a GF then you've not experienced all that is involved (so how can you be so sure that you're not missing out on stuff?) there are positives and negatives in relationships and for most people the positives outweigh the negatives.

You're the opposite of me.
I have no care for the corporate world. Job status or money (beyond having enough to live in comfort).
Money just doesn't make me happy

But yeah if you don't want a relationship you are going to do so much better (monetarily). My previous relationship, had I not been in it, I would have been financially much better off now. But I did learn a lot.

I do agree western society is kind of broken. I hope people start to grow out of social media etc

Last GF broke up with me last year. Had known her for 10 years, been 'seeing' her for 2 years. I bought her a computer as an early Christmas gift. She left me a few days before Christmas, kept the computer, never gave back various other things which I can't be bothered to chase anymore, she then immediately slept with some random, and it later came out that she had cheated on me with 3 people while we were together.

Could be worse OP, chin up! The right one will come along. :)

What a piece of work, seriously :(

Its in the past and there were good memories to go with the bad, thats all that matters. :)

The situation was obviously a lot more complicated than that, but that is the barebones version. It would take far too long to try and explain every detail. :p

Not an AMD was it? :p

I've never understood why it's 'hard' to be single at Christmas / New Years compared to every other day of the year?

Is it because you look back at the year and think you're a failure? If so, then you're right; you are a total failure.

Traditionally it's a time to be with family and in the modern world you should be with your multi-faith group of friends with benefits living in a converted railroad car selling your composted waste at farmer’s markets.

You mean the modern world where you base everything on what you read on social media?
