Bay parking etiquette at the supermarket

I've noticed this too, after work I often go to Tesco in Trent Vale or Longton on my way home, usually between 3-5am, no matter where I park (and I've experimented by deliberately parking a distance from the entrance on an otherwise empty car park) I invariably come out to find someone parked next to me!

I'm sure there's some valid psychological reason for it, herd / sheep mentality perhaps? I dunno, but generally just think many people drive with their cars in gear but brains in neural.

I was ttold once by someone that they doe it as it is easier to line their car up.

it gives you something easier to see because the height of the car, thing is they line up to you and not nessecarily the space.

one thing i do hate is having to park wonky to the space because the 2 cars either side are wonky, only to return later with them both gone and looking like i'd just abandoned my car.

There's no rule that says you must indicate, but for the sake of moving a stalk in one direction, it saves you potential road rage from people who have no patience.

I indicate everywhere for this very reason.

I would say this as well. I guess it just helps make other drivers aware of your intentions.

:D :D :D, hahaha yep especially if you're returning to your car just as someone is parking next to you. That look of embarrassment on your face and saying yeah i was made to park like this.

if I go shopping - aka weeky food shopping I'll go front first and have the boot/rear of the car ready to load up the bags..

any other time and I usually reverse in unless I can drive into a spot straight on.

I always indicate in car parks if I'm about to park, for the obvious reasons. :) Nothing worse than someone stopping right up your bottom if you were planning on reversing into a bay.

Another point to add, just because as its happening as i sit here, whats with people who when waiting any length of time just leave their car idling?

Fella across from me went and got in his rather battered vectra, started her up and has sat there for the last ten minutes with the engine going.

Its as if people dont understand engines consume fuel even when your not driving.

Gotta get that cool air from the aircon!

This is how you deal with morons who can't park, said moron in the Micra, my mate (a forum member here) in the e30, they weren't touching and he parked there after the Micra! :D

A perfect balance of beautifully precise and downright **** parking :D

I avoid all these issues by parking my bike right by the front doors.

I would be paranoid that they would boot my car or destroy something on it.

Indeed it was, he had the audacity to take a photo of her. :D

His e30 had a few scars here and there, I think to him the risk was worth it! :D

Lmao amazing! :D Did she say anything? Looks like perfect parking on your mates behalf.
