buy a second 970 or put the money towards a 1080 or 1070

970 is still decent card for 1080.plays most games still maxxed out.so good for a year yet.

1070 is close to twice as quick.

no it doesnt Dg. Last time i saw you say that i asked you how Deus Ex and the division ran on your system, you didnt reply.

the 970's got mileage in it yet but it's had it's day. I seem to be running most things at medium these days to keep the framerate up.

i had the division almost maxed out at 1080p when it first released as it came free with the card, never really had a problem with frame rate

Sell up and put the money towards a 1070 but do not pay over the top for a fancy cooler keep it simple they all overclock the same.

Out of curiosity what uninformed information do you think he has been given? Is it not generally acknowledged that single card solutions are better for VR, and that the 10XX series has some VR optimised features? Everybody seems to be giving him the correct advice to me.

^^this

And it's not like the advice changes if you are not using VR.

For VR get the 1070 over two 970s.

For general gaming get the 1070 over two 970s.

but I guess that's uniformed information
