Eating sweet food...

That's a normal healthy weight for someone your height. 13.5 stones and you would be classed as being overweight.

Yea I know, I just want to be a tad 'bigger'. I'm 76kg, would like to be 80kg and I don't want to get there by just eating crap, want it to be muscle mass.

I was 63kg a few years ago so it's a massive improvement :)

I was the high end of 13 stone at one point and felt underweight, scrawny, weak and lacking energy - far from light and bouncy!

Sitting at 16 stone now and feeling far far better for it at a height of 6ft 3/4

Goes to show how everyone is different as when I was 16.8 stone I felt weak and lethargic. Practically zero stamina. Though I'm only 5ft 9.

My body really hates weight now.

I don't know if it matters, but at my current weight, my BMI is 21.2. Bang in the middle of the green bar, so I can't be underweight. I am only 5,5.

Yes, it's a compulsion after eating a main meal.

Hot apple pie and vanilla ice cream? Or apple pie and custard or lovely chocolate pudding that breaks off in little bits while the chocolate oozes through the hot custard...

At 63kg you probably got lost behind a lamppost.

Am 60kg and 5ft'10 so I have to be careful walking over grids and drains! :D

You can tell fat people who eat too much sugar, they always have a flushed red glow about there faces while they haul 100kg+ of blubber around.

I eat any amount of crap I want and have never been an ounce over 10.5 stone. Fatties are just jealous they haven't got the uber fast metabolisms us more advanced folk enjoy.

Funnily enough I was the same, until I got older. Then even looking at something nice I gained weight!

But at the tender age of 37 I'd say I'm fitter now than I have ever been, thanks to a good diet and 5 days a week at the gym.

Problem with BMI is it doesn't take into account muscle mass.

You could be a 5ft 5, blobby or a 5ft 5 hulk and still have the same BMI.

Redness in someones face can be caused by many different medical conditions some of which have no known cure.

Well, it does help for natural trainers (even if only marginally) - you might as well put your body in the most anabolic state it can be in.

I personally like carb cycling as when I was training to a highly competitive level (club-level rugby) the conditioning and endurance I got from that was hugely helpful. Then as I started to go down the powerlifting route, I found that keeping a decent carb cycle going helped improve insulin sensitivity which again translated in decent metabolic improvements. Albeit supplementing with leuicine (protein synthesis), creatine (ATP output) - I took part in an MSc study that Loughborough University were doing, and there were marginal but still recordable improvements.

However, yes, you are 100% correct, for most laypersons, and average joe gym trainers, it basically makes sod all difference. And exogenous insulin is so dangerous and I don't suggest anyone go down that route really.

Yeah I did Carb cycling when I wanted to cut down for a holiday years ago, I enjoyed it and it helped me control my diet well, also combined it with intermittent fasting and also upping Calories on training days.

I don't think eating a bit of chocolate around training is bad at all though, your energy levels will probably benefit from a bit of extra blood sugar, I just tend to see people make a big deal about meal timing and spiking insulin or having a Protein shake within 30 seconds of training when really the bigger picture is what's important as you obviously know.

well my job is setting the production lines that make hot desserts so i produce a lot of sweet stuff ,and the works shop is full of 20p and 50p cakes tarts pies crumbles ect
so yeh i did go abit mad when i started working there (and theres nothing at work that would put me off eating it ,the place is pristine} but back to being a savory person now ,nuts bombay mix low fat crisps ect

Yep, I love sweet food, chocolate specifically. More so after a large meal. I find buying a box of heroes or the like is a good option, and I'll have like 3 of them to keep my cravings at bay rather than a whole chocolate bar/cake or whatever. I do have my bad days though where I just want to eat and eat and eat. I just go for it :p. It only happens now and again, and as long as I keep going at it at the gym, then it's all good.

Fat people who eat too much sugar have swollen red flush faces and usually there eyes are very squinted, just a personal observation nothing scientific about it.

Sugar is fine for you providing you burn it off as soon as possible.

Whilst watching True Detective and nom'ing on ice cream, I consumed 2232 calories and 253 grams of sugar. That's ******* disgusting.

You nut job that's over a quarter of a 1 kilo bag of sugar, do you want diabetes or something because you going the right way about it. :D

Most Americans consume over 6000 calories a day. All they need to eat is two pizzas since they're fully loaded.

How do they not? You've seen the size of the pizzas they eat and the amount of toppings and sauces?

Its not like puny pizzas in Europe.
