The Christmas Office Fuddle

cba to read thread as am sure the answer is in there.

but just to reiterate, WTF is a fuddle table?

even if its northern i have never heard of that before?!!

/edit, even google doesn't know.

This reminds me of work, we have a group of 5 of us who every couple of days or so takes it turn to buy the others lunch, be it KFC, sandwiches, pizza what ever.

There is one person, who despite having plenty of money, living in his completely mortgage free house, driving a £40k car, going on multiple oversees holidays a year, is quite happy to eat our food, but never buy any himself.

Oh no no no, it's a fuddle. Buffet is different, a employer would provide a buffet (posh southern word for sandwiches)

If my employer paid for our buffet this Thursday the whole country would be up in arms.
I will be providing oatcakes with ham & cheese.

Its Fuddle not fuddle table.. thats the op adding unnecessary descriptors to it.

I had never heard of the word fuddle until i joined my current employer. Its a very midland based word and basically means just bringing in food and drink to work for certain occasions e.g someones birthday, someone leaving or getting a new job, for christmas etc

There is fuddle etiquette though which is as follows:

1) you dont bring anything you dont eat anything
2) no value **** or just emptying the cupboards at home
3) Home made food or treats are always winners
4) You should always plan whos bringing what to maintain a savory to sweet ratio of either 2:1 or minimum 1:1

No Sandwiches are just that Sandwiches, a Buffet would have a selection of different foods on it, this may or may not include Sandwiches, Sausage rolls, pork pie, mini quiches, cakes, crisps, etc etc.

I'm northern and have never heard of a fuddle table until this thread.

We did the same thing at work sometimes, people would bring in food and we would all eat it. Usually sweet things.

It isn't really a buffet unless you have sandwiches imho or at least food that you can make a decent meal.
