Looking for a wireless headset for Xbox one for gaming, movies tv etc.

I have Turtle beach stealth 450 headphones for my pc which I have been impressed with. So I am looking at TURTLE BEACH STEALTH 420X+ as they are same as the pc ones I have but with connection to xbox.

Or the TURTLE BEACH Elite 800X which are 60 quid more expensive but come with a charging dock. Has anyone got these are they worth the premium?

I discounted the new astro A50 as I don't like the aesthetic or the non removable mic.

Are they other headsets I should consider?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I sold my Astros to get the X800's and I found them way better. Sound from the Astros was incredible and the TB's easily matched them. I'm flogging them now as I've bought a PS4 but I'm looking at getting the PlayStation equivalent.

I had the Elite 800x and swiftly got rid of them. They were just so problematic. Refused to turn on at times, had issues pairing with the base. Dropped sound all the time. Quite poor mic.

I don't know how easy it is to add a secondary mic on the xbone, but if possible I'd go headphones plus mic rather than a headset. Didn't try the turtle beach but last month I tested the Astro A50's, Madcatz FREQ 9 and Katana HD and Lucidsound LS30 and they all sounded like junk because of the sound gates for the mic producing hiss and crackle. So I went for a pair of Sennheiser rs175s which sounds infinity cleaner and just use the basic ps4 mic on the odd occasion I need one.

Faulty set? Never had a problem with mine despite using it about once every week.

I have the 800x, people complain about the mic and not being able to hear me clearly.

They can be fiddly to put back in the dock, a few times I have gone to them only to find they were flat.

Comfy though, good sound quality, bluetooth to my phone is great, can take calls when gaming

Thanks for the feedback the Bluetooth on the 800x was a benefit as will save the wife shouting to get my attention she can just text lol.

I don't like all the buttons being on the ear cups as your always going to end up pressing one when you take them off!.

Might go for the 420x as they are cheaper and don't have all the buttons.

I have a steel series Siberia X800, needs a wire into the controler for voice (which is annoying) but the sound quality is amazing and I can use them on my PC as well using the DAC it comes with. great battery life and if comes with a second battery you can swap to when ever you want.

Xbox on the optical input, PC on the USB and still has a 3.5mm i can use for other things (used to be on the 360 but i dont use it anymore).

Mic is loads better than the turtle beachs 800x, but the 800x is truely wireless.

What i really want is a bluetooth style headset like the old 360 one so I can use speakers and chat.

I have the turtle beach stealth 500 headset which is wireless, can't fault them tbh. Never had an issue with people not being able to hear me. Only downside is the battery doesn't pay too long ie I get a few days before I have to charge them but I have a long USB charging cord which I plug into my headset and Xbox and can still carry on using them.

Super comfy as well. Have had them for about a yr or so and they haven't missed a beat.

Used my TB 420x+ for first time very happy. Great sound playing games and very light so neck pain after prolonged use like my old wireless PS4 headset.

Only annoying thing is once xbox pics up that headphones are connected it still plays sound from tv. Not a big deal just a small niggle.
