Thought this might make an interesting thread after being inspired by something Ed said on Wheeler Dealers.

He explained to Mike on it what Quantum of Solace meant and when he did this thread was inspired.

So Quantum of Solace means Morsel of Comfort.

Not quite as good a name for a film me thinks.

Couple of other examples to get this going

Original Film Name = Gremlins
Alternate Film Name = Imps

Original Film Name = A Fistful of Dollars
Alternate Film Name = A Handful of Euros

(yes some will be better than others :))
 
OK not quite what you were asking for but some of the names of films in different countries are pretty funny too.

Army of Darkness in Japan was translated to "Captain Supermarket"

Never Been Kissed in the Philippines was translated to "Because She’s Ugly"

Die Hard With A Vengeance in Denmark seems to have been confused with a porn film, they called it Die Hard: Mega Hard

Cant remember where but Bad Santa was translated to Santa is a Pervert. Somewhere like Russia, maybe Poland, cant remember.
