I'm looking to add some fans to a Swiftech H220X. Which are the favoured 120mm fans which have good static pressure but lowest noise curve?

My favs are still Gentle Typhoons 15s but theyre £20 a pop. Theyre the quietest from all the fans i own but i don't own any of them new maglevs so i dunno how good they are.

Thanks for the heads up on the Corsair ML, I'll check them out for radiator use. At the moment it is either the EK Vardar or Corsair SP.

I'd say Vardars do the best performance for the noise, with Noctuas being lower noise for almost the same performance.
Wasn't impressed by the Corsairs enough to change, though.

Well you mentioned the SPs, which I find pretty darn loud anyway, but I also mean the Quiet Editions (which are comparatively very low performance) and the new ML ones that I tried out recently.
So what are your thoughts on the Corsair ML's

Thanks for that but I'm looking for the quietest I can find for a given RPM.

I'd love to get hold of some Nidec Gentle Typhoon's (1850rpm) but the only place I know is in Canada. Ironically the shop that sells them is in Mississauga, Cananda and I was in that exact town for a few days this summer. Wished I picked some up then. :(

Do you have a specific RPM in mind, or just the best SP value for the lowest noise?
If the latter, then again I'd go with Noctua or Vardars, depending on whether you want more quiet or more performance - Noctua for the best performance/noise compomise, Vardars for the quietest high performance.

~1600rpm is the highest I normally use but I would need it as quiet as possible through the full range especially ~1100 rpm which is where they tend to stay at when attached to the fan controller.

Space to add more in push/pull and run at lower RPM to get less noise but good pressure?

I've not finished my build yet but its got 13 MLs and 4 SPs on it across multiple radiators with the intention of running them lower, I connected one ML at full RPM and its relatively loud outside the case but i'm probably going to be running them much lower and inside obviously.

I got some Nidec Gentle Typhoons from the UK in the end. If you check the comparisons youtube videos between the GT, Vardars and Noctua the GT's are much quieter at every RPM.

Yeah i was gonna say theyre easy to get over here, just very expensive. I was lucky and a nice guy on the MM gave me loads of them for next to nothing.

That's not what i found, i had a bunch of 1150RPM GT's from the US a while back, and they're certainly not as quiet as i thought. In fact the fans on my Noctua NHD15 are quieter now, at least below 1000RPM they are.

The GT's have a low gritty/tick noise to them, and if you have 2-3 of them working it is a rather annoying sound IMO. I think the Noctua's have a much cleaner sound to them as all i hear is mostly just air being pushed and no other noise.

Well I'll do my own tests as I have some Noctua's, though my RPM will be higher at around 1600rpm so it will be an interesting comparison of my own. If I'm not happy with them I'll send them back and try the Vardars.

I'd say the Vardars, then. Get the Extended Range versions.
You had some Gentle Typhoons as well IIRC so what do you think re the comparison?
