***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Yep, I really like the modulars. I've got the Pet Shop for Christmas, and afterwards I'm going to pick up the Bank and Assembly Square in January. Might be able to sneak in a Detectives Office too!

They all look fantastic and I could see myself having a little town made out of them all. Gutted I missed ones like the Fire Station, Town Hall and Grand Emporium.

So the Merc Arocs and the Claas arrived from Tossco today and I must say I 'm really glad I chose the expensive DPD delivery option.
Seems there are quite a few very peed off people out there who went to collect their orders from a local store only to be told that it hadn't arrived, was now out of stock and ended up having a refund given.
For those that did manage to pick theirs up there were quite a few with damaged boxes, even on the more recent stuff like the Bucket Excavator and the Claas.
Don't think I'll ever use Tesco again for Lego. Mine was delivered in a plastic bag, same as the Direct to Store stuff. Thankfully it didn't get drop kicked and arrived in pretty good shape..

Hmm. Depends on your sensibilities and priorities I suppose.

Personally I expect something to be delivered in the way it left the manufacturer ie not bashed up and ripped and torn.

Tain't cheap stuff we're talking about here.

I bought the Disney Castle for my wife. Bearing in mind that this is Lego's current halo set, the only place you can get it is from them direct (seriously, try find another vendor, nobody else has it). I got 7% cashback from TCB which reduced it to £270. I got an email from Lego yesterday saying that I could get double VIP points on anything bought this weekend. I sent them a ticket, explained my purchase, and asked if they'd honour the double points on my order. They agreed! That means that I went from £10 in loyalty points to £25 on this order alone. Really chuffed :D

Result.

Let's hope it doesn't end up at Tosco this time next year at less than half the price eh?

I'm seriously bewildered how Tesco can afford to flog Lego so cheap.

Are they selling off everyones damaged goods that nobody else could shift?

Or summink?

Ah what the hell

This is, very slowly, turning out to be the best thing I've ever put together.

The need to modify is strong....

The truck is awesome when it is built. I love the fact you can remove the top of the flatbed to see the gears. Unfortunately, I discovered the power mods after I had built it, and there is no way I am taking it apart to do it again! :)

A couple of other kits I have built with the misses recently:

Arrrrrr....

Can't wait for the wife to open up the Yellow Submarine on Xmas day.

It's gonna live in the bathroom.

Anyone know if those stickers are waterproof ?

By the way Boge, I have just noticed that your wheel arches are yellow and mine are grey.

You sure you have the right pieces there?

I only ask cause I had to take apart various parts of mine several times for incorrect fitment.

I had to remove the whole rear axle section at least 3 times to get the stands synchronised!

Yeah I made a couple of changes. Not just the wheel arches.

The chassis looked too skinny with the wheels protruding out beyond so I widened it using yellow. Still not sure about it until the rest is finished TBH

The vertical gaps between the engine housing and the cab and the horizontal space between the chassis and the engine have also been filled in.

OCD ? Moi? Spot the difference? Never....
