Booking a family holiday next year, its been 3 years.... Been paying stupid amounts in creche fee's which finally comes to an end next year.....(Over 7 years £60,000 :eek::eek:)!

I've had a look about and naturally all the great "deals" involve turkey, which i have no intention of going to.... However i've seen somewhere nice in Kos and i'm tempted.

So my question is while i search for something suitable, are there any places in i should avoid?

Age of the kids ?

Personally I avoid Egypt & Turkey just for the moment in regards to a family holiday. The world is a large place. There are odds everywhere for aproblem I just see no point in increasing them.
I went on a villa holiday to Kefalonia last year which was really good.
I avoided the right side of the greek islands tbh.

Is bang for buck your priority for your holiday?

Avoid that entire part of the world if i were you. Egypt for example was a hole before the more recent troubles and now its ten times worse.

Would like to suggest berlin as we had a fantastic time there a few years ago

If you are an experienced traveller Egypt actually isn't too bad at the moment though not somewhere I'd go for a family holiday - I'd avoid Turkey though - not quite sure how its going to play out but the recent bombings are merely a warning shot compared to what is potentially to come - if Turkey ramps it up against the Kurds in response that part of the world is likely going to descend into hell.

I would stay away from anywhere remotely Islamic, there are reasons it's dirt cheap. And most places outside of Saudi Arabian cities are ****-holes anyways and i'm personally boycotting anything to do with Saudi Arabia as i don't want them to have a penny of my money.

Exchange rates right now are awful, so anything abroad will be expensive. Age of the kids question above is the more important. In the absence of any better information - center parcs ?

Tenerife is great for the kids especially player de Las Americas , loads of play parks within pub view. :D

+1 for Playa de Las Americas. I haven't experience taking my own kids (went on a couples' holiday) but there was plenty of kids and families around and it seemed to suit. Siam Park (water park) is a good day out too, with free bus!

Siam Park is the highest rated water park in the world, we had an awesome day there, it's much better than the Disney water parks in Florida for example. Tenerife is great, Fuerteventura is good as well, it's just a little bit windy and there isn't as much to do (there's still quite a few things, just not as much as Tenerife). Wasn't a fan of Lanzarote but maybe a different part of the island would've been better. Greece is always an option as well, I've been to Crete a few times and that's nice. Plus there's Majorca, Southern Spain, South of France...

We're looking for next Sept.... ages 4 and 7.

We've replaced abroad holiday's with caravan holidays, which having been fortunate enough as a child to experience both aborad and caravan my fondest memories have been away in the caravan.... However we fancy a change!

Kind of confirm what i expected tbh... Cheaper the more risk, which i'm not willing to take.

Dont know what you guys think, but was hoping for a week all inc mid Sept (no discussion about taking them out of school, our choice)...... Budget of £2100.

With that budget and out of school holidays consider centre parcs
