Hi guys,

My work is shipping me off to south korea for 16 moths in feb 2017. Looking for a laptop with a max budget of £1700.

I do not mind a big/heavy one as it will mostly stay put in the apartment as a desktop replacement only moving when i come back to the UK (3 times in the year).

What to go for?
-- MSI
-- Alienware
-- ASUS

For the budget i really want at least a 1060/70 and M.2 SSD? A good screen - worthwhile going for a 120hz? GSync?

Thanks,

Honestly, I'd build a PC. A simple one with air cooling, good motherboard, one you can pack away, maybe even itx. I did the same when I moved to Finland, the laptop became useless after a short while. Unless it's the 1080 laptops? Even then no way to upgrade even you get back and the devaluation is incredible.

This Gigabyte is £30 over budget but has 256GB PCIe SSD and GTX 1070 and an IPS display: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...-intel-i7-6700hq-gaming-laptop-lt-07l-gi.html

I don't think 120Hz is within your budget.

May have a funny keyboard (ie localised for koreans) ;)
