To cancel my euromillions or not

Play once in a blue moon. Won £13.60 the other month. Think it was a big draw, €100m+

My lottery spending over the year must be ~£10-20 a year so happy enough to throw a couple of quid here and and there.

Pretty much this. I'll throw a couple of lines in for the big jackpots - I know I'm not realistically going to win.

Best chance to win is get a member of staff AT THE LOTTERY COMPANY to help you out I'm told (from reading Sundays headlines) odd are then 1:1

So if I just hire a random person to be my PA and make them put it on for me I'll win?

Seems like a good return to me!

I do the Euromillions on a Friday but that it is really so it only costs me about £10 a month which is fine for a chance (however small) at the big money. I also keep tabs on the Powerball for when the jackpots are insane and throw a few at that just on the off chance.

Not playing at all = you will never win
Playing = you still might never win... but then again you might!

That'll be today's booze paid for :D

I done it for about a month, won a decent amount then set up a DD for past 2 years.

Cancelled my euromillions draws earlier this year as I was spending about £20 a month on it and getting the odd £2-3 back.

Still have the lotto draws on wed + sat every week and unlikely to cancel that any time soon.

Past year I've pretty much only won extra tickets though.

I spend £10 a month on the lottery, more at Christmas. I think that is excessive to spend, what the OP is spending is ludicrous IMO.

of course if you can afford that then crack on, but I find a number of people spend money on the lottery out of "hope" that they'll win and this becomes an obsession. I find many people would be better faired if they would save the money they would have otherwise spent on the lottery, especially if that amount is several hundreds of pounds/year.

I strode into Asda yesterday confident of collecting my winnings for the 2 tickets i bought ( Tuesday and Friday ).

Sadly my online checking skills had failed me ( first time i have done lottery ! )

My huge £6.20 win ( 2 numbers + the star thing ) was for the last Friday draw before and this was a Tuesday ticket the lady at the counter told me:(

My dreams were shattered :D

Wouldnt you be better off witch scratch csrds odds are like 1 in 3 or something

I just looked this up as i was curious. The odds of a win on a random scratch card i picked off the lotto site is 1/2.86 with a payout percentage of 74%. Compared to the regular lottery its a better deal as although the jackpot is a fair bit higher(more than i would want to win tbh) the payout percentage is just shy of 50%. I thought the people who bought scratch cards were the bigger mugs but it seems the lottery players are :p

From now on i might just cancel my lottery direct debit which isn't exactly massive and replace it with a few scratch cards instead. Im still throwing my money away but the returns are better(not that its saying much) and its far more entertaining. Plus after a few losses im more likely to just cancel entirely as im actively throwing money away rather than just having it siphoned off every once in a while via direct debit without any involvement.

Everyone should cancel, and force Camelot to reduce the ticket prices again, and reduce the amount of numbers to choose from on the main draw.

It was bad before these changes, but now they're taking the mickey.
