As someone who has recently taken out a mobile contract and a tablet contract both with EE, I'll be following what happens here

Didn't Vodafone do something similar a couple of years ago?
 
Pretty sure this only relates to landlines and broadband.

You won't see any change other than inflation to your mobile/tablet contract, currently.

Aye, that's exactly what it relates to... not mobile at all.

Quoted from email they've sent me:

"We appreciate that the price increase does change the amount you spend with EE each month. So if you would like to discuss your options or cancel your contract without charge please call us by 13 January 2017"
