I've just been pleasantly surprised with a Marshmallow 6.0.1 update with Septembers Security updates for our Tab S 10.5 and apparently the Tab S 8.4 will also get the same update soon.

I wasn't expecting them to get a Marshmallow update so better late than never.

It's only been installed a couple of hours so nothing too noticeable as yet. I'm hoping I'll notice the same improvement in battery life as that on my Note 4. They don't appear to have included the extra bloat that came with the Marshmallow Note 4 upgrade like Facebook.

One thing of interest though is that it's let me install Good Lock. Unfortunately though because it's designed for phones it only uses about 50% of the screen width (in portrait mode) but I've come to prefer this on my Note 4 to Touchwiz.

I wondered whether the delay on rolling it out on my 8.4 was due to it being the LTE 4G model but it looks as though it's all of them if yours hasn't had it yet.

My 8.4 was becoming laggy and a few apps were not running smooth, Plex being very broken. The Marshmallow update has smoothed out and fixed all my niggles. Updated then reset everything. New lease of life for my oled friend.

Good to hear. Do you have the LTE or WiFi version? And was the update via OTA or Sideload?

Marshmallow for the 8.4 WiFi (SM-T700) was released very shortly after that for the 10.5 WiFi (SM-T800) as an OTA so you should have had it by now (assuming you're in the UK).

I'm assuming but don't know for sure that it's also now been released as an OTA for the 10.5 LTE (SM-T805) at the same time it was released for the SM-T705 version as well.

Yes I have a T700

Build number LRX22G. T700ZSU1BOJ1

No OTA as of yet. I need to look up what region rom that is.

Might be worth asking Samsung UK if you're prepared to put up with a long wait on the chat/phone line. No point in emailing them as they never reply (to me anyway).

Just had the November 2016 Security update for the SM-T700. Nothing yet for the SM-T800 or SMT705.

kona786 - If you look in the 'Settings', 'About Device', 'Status' what does it say for 'About Status'?

Device status is official

This may be clutching at straws but rebooting might trigger something. According to the uptime you haven't rebooted for nearly 3 months.

Finally got the OTA...

...though other than the build number changing I'm not really seeing any changes. No themes support - boo!

I wonder why it took so long? You should also expect the most recent security patch to bring it up to November 2016.
