Hi. I have 2 systems with the above cpus in and 2 gpus nvidia gt 710 2gb and nvidia gtx 960 2gb.

My question is. Which system would the gtx 960 be better in for pure gaming @1080p.

The i5 is stock speed the fx 4350 is @4.9ghz. Both have 600w psu 2tb 240gb ssd w10 32gb ram.

Thanks in advance.

I think the I5 will edge it especially for single thread IPC, but overall they'll probably be pretty close and trade blows when you factor in the ~15% overclock on the 4350.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1273?vs=363 (bear in mind this is a stock 4350 vs the ~10% faster 2400, so you need to dock the i5 around 10% and add about 10-15% to the FX)

It's actually multi-threaded where the performance gap will be biggest. This is because the FX4 has 2 modules, rather than 4. When an FX CPU uses both cores in a module there's a performance hit so the scaling is lower than the traditional approach.

Sorry didn't explain myself well to be honest, the benchmarks I linked probably explain it better for the OP :)
The FX4350 is kinda like an i3 with turbo charged HT, it's the clock speeds of 2.3 v 4.9GHz which make this more challenging.
