How does iphone icloud work?

Got a 5c off ebay for £90 , and im gonna send it back. Apparently it was seller refurbished , but the thing keeps doing stuff that i didnt want it to. How does icloud work? I wanna keep my pics but i need to reset the phone before i send it back.

My wife's iPad is like that - Apple products do what Apple thinks they should rather than what you want - it bugs her (and why I won't buy Apple!)

Apple products do what you tell them to do. iCloud, you turn it off it stops syncing. Erase the phone and it erases.

This sounds more like an admission that you don't know how to use the product.

What sort of stuff is it doing that you don't want to?

iCloud should alreayd be backing them up as long as you have Photostream enabled, but I disabled it on my parent's phones as it had space issues. Using Google Photos as an alternative instead which offers unlimited storage (not at the original resolution, but quality is still good) and honestly is easier to access the photos on other devices via the web.

You can access all of your photos stored in iCloud just as easily as Google Photos. Just go to www.icloud.com, login and click 'Photos'.
