I usually submit my online self assessment in order to qualify to pay any tax due via PAYE from my monthly pay (I work full time but also run a part time business).
Stupidly, this year I submitted my online return on 31st December, had it in my head that the deadline for returns was 31st January, which of course it is. However if you wish to have your impending tax bill taken from your PAYE earnings the HMRC website states it needs to be submitted by 30th December. I didn't realise this, stupidly. Kicking myself.
Anyone 'In the know' reckon I'd get any joy if I called them up tomorrow and asked if it could be still done via PAYE as it was a 'only' a day late? Or am I likely to be wasting my time?
Ta.
