What are you having for Christmas Dinner? And post your Christmas Dinner!

Turkey with the trimmings.
We already had a dress rehearsal with the crown we originally bought after the fridge-freezer packed up the other week!
Undecided on dessert yet as Xmas pud with custard goes all the way to 11 on the sugar/fat scale so SWMBO pretty much ruled that out. Maybe a decent cheesecake, as that will do over two days between us.

Turkey - rubbed butter, thyme, salt and pepper onto skin. Bunch of thyme and half a lemon in the cavity.
Potatoes & Parsnips - Par boiled then roasted in goose fat.
Pigs in blankets - proper sausages + streaky bacon.
Two types of sausagemeat stuffing.
Steamed carrots.
Sprouts - Sprout tops and sprouts, par boiled then added to fried pancetta and chestnuts. Finished with sherry and lemon juice.
Red cabbage - slow cooked and spiced.
Proper Gravy from all the juices and meaty bits.
Home made cranberry sauce - fresh cranberries cooked down with orange juice and sugar.

 :D :) :D :)

I would have taken a picture but I have been too busy with eating and drinking to do so.

So this year we had:

Cold:

Hot smoked trout
Hot smoked sea trout
Cold smoked salmon
Gravdlax
3 different types of herring
Trout roe with red onion and smetana
Crayfish tails
Rye crisps with caviar, herring and smetana
Smoked vendace
Liver pate
Mushroom salad
Beetroot salad
Pickled pumpkin
Lingonberry jam
White fish roe with red onion and smetana
Homemade cheese
2 different types of bread

Hot:

Ham
Potato cassarole
Boiled potatos
Swede cassarole
Carrot cassarole
Peas
Mustard

I might have forgotten something but anyways it was all delicious! I have had it 2 days now as Christmas is 24th here in Finland. I am hoping for 1 more day of eating all or at least some of this. Best part is that there is no turkey in sight! (Not a fan) :D

We had:

Turkey
Lamb
Roast Potatoes
Boiled Potatoes
Pigs in blankets (it's the law)
Peas
Sprouts fried with bacon
Yorkshire puddings
Assorted veg
Cheese sauce
Cranberry sauce
Mint sauce

Then cheese and crackers at about 6 while watching Only Fools and Horses as there was not much else we fancied watching.

I think I'm still full from yesterday. I made:

A 5 bird roast (Turkey, goose, chicken, duck and pheasant) with sage and onion stuffing
Roast potatoes
Pigs in blankets
Honey roasted carrots and parsnips
Brussels sauteed with onion, fresh thyme and sultanas
Mashed swede
Cauliflower cheese
Lingonberry was the sauce of choice this year (Swedish berry, sauce tastes a bit like cranberry... but better)

It is unseasonable for a reason. Its terrible when its not British (or from somewhere near). As much as I love it I avoid it the rest of the year too woody.

The Peruvian stuff isn't as tasty as Uk grown but this deffo wasn't "woody", as you put it. I had to stifle a giggle, despite being in my late forties.
