£200 or close inc tracking, can it be done without resorting to ditchfinders or part worns?

205 55 16 for a vauxhall potato astra

I'm good at finding deals on premium tyres, lol, bu a friend needs 4 on a budget, and the millions of cheaper brands are a minefield!

Thanks

They're the one part that keeps you on the road!

In 16s is expect you to be able to get mid range ones for not too much, stick with decent brands.

What do rainsports run at in that size?

EDIT: sub 50 a corner delivered.

I'd be phoning local places and seeing what they can do with that price tbh. Should expect only a little over 200 fitted n balanced from what I've seen

Camskill prices are supply only, fitting, balancing, disposal is extra.

KwikFit do that size for around your budget all in.
Andi.

I had these on my Octavia in the same size, they were excellent for wear and grip in wet and dry, and they were still good in the dry even when the tread depth was very low!

They are a bit squidgy though.

I was also impressed by the Falken Ziex ZE914 in this sort of price bracket! :)

They're a very good tyre for the price, as long as you don't want to throw it around bends, as it feels like you're aboard a boat.

Preaching to the converted bro! But I'm trying to convince a dorris..

I've found 4 Goodyear efficient grip performance on black circles for £240, not including tracking which needs to be done, which I've almost sold her on..

Thanks for the other suggestions.. I'll look into them... getting a bird to buy decent tyres is a nightmare, it's a bit like when they buy a £200 laptop and then complain that it's crap.

Precisely. :p

Though if you do throw it round bends, they stick really well, but squash. So its like you're in a boat which is inexplicably good at cornering.

Ive had RS2 before and was very impressed with them, but need them fitted in a rush so camskill is out, and shes a girl, so ..all far too complicated for her.

I've basically pushed the Goodyear efficiency grip on her, hope I made the right decision..£280 inc. fit, track, balance

Typically she didn't ask me or even look into tyres until the 11th hour when they are only about 1mm above legal with tracking issues, took car for mot and to be fair they are right, all 4 are xxxx.

Have a look at F1 autocentre online, for me they were the cheapest fitted, unlike most other tyre places I've used the guys certainly at my local place are nice and friendly.

I ordered online and paid for 2 new rear tyres and went to get them fitted.

In addition they swapped the rears to fronts and checked and balanced the existing front wheels/tyres and also did 4 wheel laser tracking for an extra £55.

Was about to post these guys - been looking for tyres for my Civic in the exact same size and the Uniroyal Rainsports are £48.70 fitted

Arrowspeeds are manufactured for Kwik Fit as I understand it. They are pretty bad, but better than your average ditchfinder.

Hopefully the Goodyears dont make her seasick! (they are comfy though...) :D
