Hey all.

Looks like i need a new cooler as my h20 620 aio water cooler is leaking. So might go back to air.

Thing is ive not looked at coolers in years so i dunno whats good.

Any recommendations. I would like something dead easy to install with and that can cool it well enough if i put my overclock back on which was 4.5ghz at 1.2v. I dont play many demanding games anymore so i went and put it back to stock for now.

I use Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm x2 of these with push pull on the aio cooler so might be nice if i could reuse them with new cooler perhaps.

I think budget wise would be no more than £40 delivered. (i get free delivery with ocuk)

Hopefully not a absolutly huge monster one as they might be hard to fit and need a backplate which i want to avoid. Saying that tho i might have to remove the mb to get rid of the backplate from the aio wcooler. :(

Really hate removing the mb btw..

Id love to get a nice small cooler that has heatpipes and easy to install that can cool this at 30c idle or less and no more than 65 at load with the oc on.

Bought the Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler. Just now. Dont think i can trust watercooling again even tho i love the space you save with them as thats the main reason i got one before not for cooling but the huge space saving you get and easier installation.

Back to air coolers now tho. Not lookin forward to fitting it tho, but i guess my case and bits in can do with a clean from dust while i sort it all out.

Matterhorn is a good cooler. I was going to suggest Prolimatech Basic 81, which is based on their Megahalems cooler or EreBoss as well, they have basically the same cooling. I'm sure you will be happy with the Matterhorn.

I run the 212x and have an idle temp of around 35*c and gets as high as 65*c while gaming for a few hours. Max 75*c under prime for hours on hours.

Really good cooler! Also Thermal Grizzle paste is a must!

There was a time 212 was a good value cooler, but those days are long gone.
SkeeterUK ordered a Matterhorn Pure, which is much better than 212 and for £27.95, lower priced too.
