Any News on AM4 Coolers and upgrades??

I know Noctua’s and Corsair will be offering new CPU cooler brackets but thats all I've heard.
 
Horse before the cart! There's lots we don't even know about the CPUs themselves yet, not to mention when they'll be released lol! Rest assured cooler manufacturers aren't going to forget. All in good time...
 
The reason I ask is because I want a new cooler and I may as well get one that's compatible with the next updates.

We may have little info on the new CPUs but we have info on the motherboards, model numbers spec and manufactures would that also be, horse before cart?

I think Legend got the idiom backwards. It's 'cart before the horse', meaning done contrary to accepted order.

In this case we can't have a cooler mount before we have an official motherboard mounting pattern .. and AMD has not released one yet. ;)

I don't think motherboard manufactures have final specs yet either. I know they did not a couple weeks ago .. maybe an imaginary horse before the cart. :D

Yes, I know the idiom is cart before the horse, I was just flipping it to indicate it should be the other way around lol.

As you say, there's no way coolers are going to be released before people can use them. We don't even have a release date for Ryzen yet. They will coincide with each other.

OP, presumably you have a cooler you can use at present? You're not running without one lol? You'll just have to wait if you want an AM4 compatible one... I've read EK, Noctua and BeQuiet have them waiting in the wings supposedly. In fact, BeQuiet will be offering free upgrade kits, so you could get a BeQuiet cooler and be covered.
 
Cryorig will also be giving free mount upgrades with proof of cooler and AM4 CPU/motherboard.
Noctua have been doing this for many years and will do it again with AM4.
No official word from Phanteks, Alpenfohn, Scythe, Thermalright, etc, but I suspect most will have a free or low cost mount upgrade available.
