I think from what i am seeing that this is still ongoing, the CNN coverage seems that way, nobody has a clue what is going on.

e: As CRAZY says above.

Aye, with limits if I remember correctly. The cases need to be secure and locked, but the owner would be carrying the keys on themselves.

The same in this country. i frequently fly easyjet with my shotgun. although after this things will probably change.

Baggage claims are usually accessible from the street without any security restrictions.

Really ones I have seen you would have to enter through arrivals which would look mighty suspicious walking the wrong way up nothing to declare :o

But maybe I have just not been paying much attention to how open they are.

Depends if it's an international flights or not, I'm assuming this was the domestic baggage hall but you never know!

OK FLL is my most used airport. I use it to fly from Florida to California and other destinations in the US, and even from Florida to the UK, via Norwegian.

Here's the thing, there's a lot of Jewish people living in Fort Lauderdale and its something that's very noticeable when you're checking in or claiming baggage..***no *** -WG

US airports allow members of the public to access baggage claim.

Airports are going to be an easy target in the US. Taking a firearm on a plane is a pain. You have to ask for permission with the airline and it has to be packaged in a certain way (if they even allow transporttion)... So despite FL having a high number of concealed weapon licenses, no-one is going to have easy access to their firearm to take down the Jihadi !

RIP to all the dead.

Shooter ID'd as Esteban Santiago, law enforcement source tells CBS News. Situation is developing, shelter in place remains at FLL
