Ok

My mum's birthday coming up so I bought her a.new laptop and got it delivered to my sister in London to wrap it and give it to her on the bday.

The courier attempts delivery but my sister was out, even though she assured me she could be home, she forgot she would be out all day... The moron she is, it amazes she can get dressed on her own.

Courier left a note, package at neighbours house.....
Which one who knows?

So this was 3 days ago. My sister's been knocking on one or 2 doors no answer and, no sorry not seen it....

Have I just flushed £500 down the toilet?
Is that "left with neighbours" card enough to claim undelivered to the retailer? How long can this take to sort?
I'm guessing no happy birthday for mummy efour.

If they continue to not answer, can you get anyone else involved if you have a note saying it's at the neighbours house?

I wouldn't start jumping to conclusions about losing your money.

What you need is a stakeout!

If you are not sure which neighbour they left it with, why not contact the courier company directly, and ask for proof of delivery?

^This. I would have thought that a high value item like this would need a signature ? So somebody must have signed for it.

You're protected by the consumer contracts regulation.

The retailer is responsible for the condition of the goods until the goods are received by you, or by someone else you have nominated to receive them on your behalf such as a neighbour. Know your rights when parcels go missing

Your contract is with the retailer not the courier. It's the retailers job to chase this up for you, and if you don't get hold of it within a reasonable time, the to refund you.
