For years i was buying my briefs from Next, they had a thick elasticated waist band and the main part was made from cotton, i found these briefs great and they supported me very well. I bought the same ones new last year and they are now rubbish, they have put lycra in the cotton and they are stretch and lack the support of the previous ones.

Having looked in m+s and a few other shops, anything similar all seem to have bloomin lycra in them. So guys can you recommend briefs that give very good support for ones gentleman's sausage :D . I have seen some good designer branded briefs online but the prices are eye watering. Around £3 to £5 a pair is fine by me.

After trying various underwear from various companies including some top end designer stuff, these are the most comfortable I've found (actually they seem to have changed them slightly but I think they are basically the same as I bought):

Unfortunately they do have lycra in them so it probably doesn't help you much. But I find them much more comfortable than non stretch underwear. It's like wearing silk undies :)

Under Armour Boxerjock! I don't bother with any others any more after trying these. They're a bit more expensive than your budget but you can usually find them on offer somewhere for about £8 a pair.

M&S used to have some amazing ones about 5 years back or so - really comfortable and hard wearing but then they changed them (still sold as the same product) and they aren't a patch on what they used to be :(

Had this problem a lot with underwear - find something great but then when I buy it again they've changed to a much inferior product.

Picked up some Bruno Banani stuff in passing the other day which seems good but don't know much about the brand or any long term experience.

I prefer the brief style personally. I need something that keeps my chap up and to the side, because of the lycra the material does not keep it in place, the cotton material did not stretch this way. I had a look at m&s stuff in their store, their cotton only underwear is mainly normal brief style.

this is a pic of the new next briefs, the old ones were similar but made of cotton only.

Dont hotlink images please

They do look good but i never seen any for £8. If i was going to take the plunge i would need to buy one pair or one pack and make sure i was happy with them before i bought any more.

That Bruno stuff looks expensive too, i am reluctant to spend a lot on something that may not do the job properly. Maybe sports underwear is more what i need.

Sainsbury's do 100% cotton ones, they're decent.

Thanks for that mate, they look ok however its hard to tell from the pictures online. I will have a gander the next time im in the store that supplies clothes.

Bjorn Borg boxers when on offer can be had for around that price. Get ready for some bright colours, but I find them very nice.

This ^ Or Tommy Hilfiger but they're probably slightly out of budget as I tend to pay close to £10 a pair :o

I have never understood how people can find this style of underwear comfortable. Briefs or boxer briefs. Feels like they're strangulating my junk all day.

I wear the "hipsters" style (not sure what it actually is) which is kind of mid-way has most of the support of briefs with more of the comfort of boxers - I'm on my feet/active a lot of the day so find I kind of need the support :D

Unfortunately the M&S ones are now junk and the only ones I've found so far that are similar are designer brands.

They pop up on Sport Pursuit every now and then for £16 for a twin pack and Amazon is worth checking. Even at £15 full price it's worth a try for the comfort of your balls!

I've just ordered some after hearing rave reviews elsewhere.

I'm in the same boat TBH. Wore boxers for years and now have been advised to change to an underwear type that gives support, but struggle to find ones that don't strangle whilst supporting.

Going to try the UnderArmour ones.

get the longer ones, the shorter ones are just to short i find. but then i'm not used to wearing PANTS!!!!since i was about 7 lol
