Don't forgot torrent due to ease of use. The last bluray I brought and tried to watch had 10mins of unskipable adverts and a 16 digit CD key had to be typed in to watch the film plus an active internet connection. Sometimes its almost like they want to make a film as hard as possible to watch via legal means. You can download and start watching the films faster then going though all that rubbish.People mostly torrent because they want something for nothing, occasionally there will be some shows/movies that can't be found for streaming in the UK. Does then that make it ok to torrent...well, thats a discussion for another thread

Strange though as I watch multiple blurays weekly and i've never been through the same kind of pain. The longest wait I have is getting my 7 year old BR player to get to the menu, takes about 30 seconds...then it's onto the movie.
Think you just got unlucky tbh.

I forgot to say the cd key wasn't even in the disk, it seems like some new Blurays require you to go on twitter to get a CD key: see link below. Just what you want when in an area without internet or on a network that blocks twitter. Still at least not all blurays are that bad but it does seem like newer ones are getting worse. Anything from early 2015 and older seems good to go, early 2016 is hit and miss. I am surprised more people haven't complained.Wow...that sounds like a right ballache.

Same here. I have hundreds of Blu-rays and not once have I had to enter a code, go to Twitter or have an active internet connection to play them.
Pottsey, what Blu-rays have you had this with?
The last one was Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie [Blu-ray] came out last month. Wasn't even that good a film. I don't even get the point of a CD key that's posted publicly online. All it does is hurt the people who own the disk and does nothing to stop pirates.

I have a connection on my TV but not my player. The player only has power in and HDMI out to the TV.
I was surprised when you raised this issue yesterday as i've had the player for about 7 years and probably watched hundreds of blu rays. It takes a while to "spin up" and get to the menu due to age but i've never been forced to watch adverts.
