Donald Trump is 'gaslighting' all of us

You do know that Obama added $7.917 trillion, a 68 percent increase on debt?

Over 8 years after taking office after one of the worst financial crashes anyone living can remember? That's not actually that bad. Don't get me wrong, American spending is crazy but it is what it is.

Anyone who asks why they think he might do a bad job needs to be shown this.

He is the absolute polar opposite of the frankly fantastic leadership in Canada, where he did the exact opposite in appointing his cabinet. In every position is someone who is an expert in the field who is forward thinking and wants to build a better world.

Trump has put a big business person in every important position, all who don't give the slightest damn about the future, the people, the truth, the environment or the rest of the world. The care about anything that will make them much more money today, today only and who cares about the consequences.

Trump has already done every single possible thing he could do before even being sworn in, as badly as any president could EVER have done badly. He's a walking disaster and a born and bred liar. He spent his campaign saying that these people he's appointed are the very people who must be thrown out of politics and powerful positions to help the people... got the votes then put them all in powerful positions.

There is no bigger liar in american presidential history, no one who has ever made such a monumental instant u-turn on his policy before even being sworn in. Sure some presidents promise X, Y and Z and never deliver. Sometimes because a war breaks out and reducing spending isn't possible, sometimes because their programs are blocked by the other side. Trumps single biggest promise to get empty the swamp has been broken almost days after winning and nothing to do with the other side forcing his hand. He's just a flat out horrific liar who broke probably the single main promise that got him elected.

Just glassed across this great wall of text.

I think you (like most of the self-proclaimed righteous crowd). Need to just calm down. First of all show me a politician who doesn't Lie and I'll give you one million imaginary pounds!

I just don't see why people need to concentrate on the negatives all of the time...

Tell me. What do you have to say about Trump convincing Ford to build a new plant in America? Think of all the new jobs it's going to create.

Some of you are behaving as if it's the end of the world. Surely it's better to support the guy than fire shots at him.... No amount of moaning will see him give up the job. So sit down and enjoy the ride.

One of those is actually done by politicians, they extended rights to transgendered people to get the same protection from discrimination, not sure how that can be seen as anything but good. The second isn't about politicians it's about the courts, the courts have to determine what a law really says when a case comes up. Try actually reading it, it says the beastiality laws only covered penetration so BY THE LAW the court couldn't convict the guy of that one act. The court left it up to parliament to in the future extend the law to cover more acts.

This happens, there are lots of 'old' laws that really don't come up in court that often but when they do often slip through the cracks of old and imprecise wording of laws.

It's no different to how at the moment in UK law a woman can't rape a man legally because it's defined as penetration by a penis basically... though if she helps a man rape someone she can be found guilty of rape strangely enough.

It's poorly thought out wording of laws which brings about stupid situations in court when judges are asked to rule and find the law doesn't quite fit. They said they'd leave it up to parliament to change it because that is how it works. Courts enforce the laws, parliament changes, adds or remove laws.

neither of these things is an example of the current Canadian leadership doing badly. Also for the most part what you want from government is to not make things worse.

Is there actually somewhere a guy from Ford saying that Trump persuaded them? You know businesses have opened new factories in America for hundreds of years, giving all the credit to Trump is frankly nuts, regardless of what Trump claims he's done.

Don't know why people concentrate on the negatives. Again his biggest campaign promise which was getting rid of the corrupt politicians, the thing that got him elected, he's 100% backtracked on and he's not even in office yet. The only official thing he's done so far is appoint people to his cabinet and it is 100% negative in every single possible describable way, there is no positive with a single person he's appointed.

aside from that, he's also refused to put his businesses in a blind trust, meaning he will be biased about choices and things he does in his time in office. If he wasn't planning to be biased he'd have put his business affairs in a blind trust. Every single thing he's done to prepare for his time in office is corrupt, lying and appointing what will be the worst and most corrupt cabinet America has ever seen.

Where did I say it would end the world, nowhere. You're adding rhetoric to try and make people look over the top in what they are saying while also trying to attribute positive things to Trump.

Also for the record, Ford did NOT chose to move jobs to Ohio from Mexico after he won and anyone who thinks so is incredibly deluded.

Now, the truth is, the first stories about Ford moving jobs to Ohio was from August 2015... so, failure. Second, you don't go hey a guy got elected, lets make a decision on moving jobs and spending billions in Ohio in 2 weeks. The way the real world works is, a move like that takes YEARS to sort out. You're talking about a year or two(maybe even more) to have numbers guys negotiate with the state over potential tax breaks, you do the same in other states, you check out places to build, work out the numbers and see where works best for you. Then when you decide to do it (August 2015), it then takes you know, years to build a plant and plan for a large job move, wind down old facilities and shut them down.

http://money.cnn.com/2015/08/13/news/companies/ford-truck-mexico-ohio/

This article did the rounds, reprinted, almost word for word, in November 2016 with new headlines attributing the move by Ford to Trump.... simply because the decisions happened before Trump was even the nominee let alone the winner(and at a time no one on earth believed he would win) but the result happened after he was elected.

Trump has done nothing positive, he's lying about bringing jobs from Mexico to Ohio... that is what he's doing. Your 'positive' news is that he lied again.

To clarify the "Trump mocking a disabled reporter" smear that keeps getting put out, he has been caught on camera doing the same thing towards about 5 people during his campaign, it's just his impression of someone who is a bumbling idiot.. it was just coincidence that on this one occasion the guy happened to have physical disability and the media have never let it rest.

Trump's not even president yet and people are already judging him based on a mainstream media that has become completely unhinged and intelligence agencies that have lost all professionalism.

I think he is like that one bloke in the pub that everybody knows...the one that still lives with his mam but claims to have been everywhere and done everything, but is really just a walter mitty character

yea the type that pretends to be the most powerful man in the world.

agreed, the media made a mountain of a mole hill, he didn't even know he was there.

tbh, if it was russia and USA vs EU, who would win? would south america / Asia help US / Russia or EU?

SA would be floating over here in wooden canoes, I doubt China would get involved unless attacked. Then you have the nuke problem. These arguments are pointless as the Taliban, a small rag tag guerilla force with ancient weapons, showed they can hold, and some argue, beat the two most powerful nations.

The kinds of jobs that Trump is trying to bring back are low-paid jobs that will be automated in the next ten years.

Foxconn (manufacturers of the iPhone) are already starting to replace Chinese workers with robots.

Trump is a man stuck in the past.

I would have thought this would already be in some form of legislature. I guess it's a new thing.

I am very disappointed, in fact more than disappointed, that witnesses were not allowed at committee and that this has been rammed back to the House.

Would the member please answer this difficult question? There are many people in this country who do not believe that a transgendered lifestyle is God's plan or that it is medically beneficial, so if we pass this legislation, would that then affect their ability to tell their children not to speak about those ideas in a public place?

Excuse my virtue signalling, lady, but it's not a 'lifestyle', as much as being black or heterosexual isn't a lifestyle. Being fundamentalist religious bigots is, though.

And as far as being 'God's plan', H.T.F. would YOU know. I don't think being 'transgendered' is mentioned anywhere in your goddamn Bible. I guess it would fall down to the same category with homosexuality. Same thing, right. Hey, nothing to say about that? Now that it is more accepted within the social norms, where does that leaves you.

And why the hell should your particular brand of Christianity be of any consequence to others. Oh, but that would impede on your right to discriminate, would it not. The humanity.

As for free speech, be my guest. I totally endorse bigots exposing themselves publicly. And OMG will someone think of the children.

Bah, same old BS.

Hasn't CNN just released a load of stories about him which have absolutely no way of being verified and might as well been written by Roald Dahl?

Who's gas lighting who?

No fan of Trump but him suddenly becoming a fan of golden showering hookers in Russia of all places is a tad difficult to believe.

It's a whole new spin on Watergate that's for sure.

People are actually judging Trump on his actions, but because of all the other noise, people like you are excusing it and blaming the press.

Which part of for instance what I said or others have said, is all about the media lies?

Focus on the actual things he HAS done. He refuses to put his business in a blind trust, something considered an absolute must for any kind of fair/unbiased leadership and he's the only president who refuses to do it. he's the only president who refuses to disclose his financial situation.

His biggest campaign promise was emptying the swamp, before even taken office he's appointed the worst, most corrupt, lying bunch of ****'s possible in the most important positions.

he's taking credit for decisions Ford made 2-3 years ago as things happening because he was elected, or, he's lying again.

Ignore the rest, those things are awful signs. He is categorically a liar, his whole campaign was a lie, about himself, about Hillary, about other countries, about America and he's proven that he's a liar by who he's appointed to help him run the country.

As for the disability thing, here's a hint, if the nominee for the republican party was discussing policy and answering questions rather than mocking journalists.... he wouldn't have been caught mocking a disabled man. Can you remember Hilary mocking journalists on camera, or Obama, or Bush, or the other Bush, or Clinton, or Blair, or Brown, or Cameron.....?

If you do an impression that broadly speaking looks like a handicapped person attempting to talk then eventually you'll do it infront of someone who will be badly offended by it. It's terrible that a president of a huge country would behave like that in the first place. It doesn't remotely matter that he did it other times, it matters that he's acting like a giant child and has somehow got one of the most important jobs in the world.
