Anyone in the Reading/London area?

Haha, I know your pain. Used to navigate Cemetery Junction a lot :D

Working in Theale now and living out in the sticks near Amazingstoke. My 9 mile commute is all country lanes and never any real traffic although I do find the odd rogue sheep or old dear in the hedge after sliding on the untreated roads.

Sort of know your pain, used to work in Silver Street and come down from Whitley so would be fine until I got to the bottom of Kendrick Road trying to merge onto Kings Road there was a nightmare.

Oh, didn't realise you were American.
Neither did I - Football Association of 1863-present was formed at the Freemasons' Tavern in Great Queen Street, London, England... I assume that makes it a British term, then?

Apparently it was the upper class British term, used presumably to distinguish from Rugby Football, or something?
I also presume that's why Brit colonies like Aus, NZ and Saff Afrika still/did call it soccer?

But beyond the etymology, I don't really have much interest either way...
