Really? No ekwb block for gpu? I need a block for my titan x pascal. Also, do you reckon that with 2 x 480mm rads i could run my pc silently? Reckon A d5 1500l pump will be loud? Which blocks for cpu and gpu, and pump to go with?

I have switched to aquacomputer for my gpu and have one of these on my 1070. They look fantastic and the quality is excellent. There is a pascal Titan X version but it doesn't appear to be sold on here.

As for the CPU, the XSPC Raystorm Pro and Watercool Heatkiller IV are worthy alternatives to EK.

Hi Jokester,

has anyone actually done a compare of these?

I have four in my system now and it worries me that despite having an above average pump for head pressure etc that I might be killing the benefits.

Extreme Rigs did a roundup of QDC's back in 2013 and the restriction on some of them is abysmal. The Koolance ones are the best by a large margin. I believe this is the Skinnee Labs roundup that Jokester refers to and was done in 2009.

I suppose it is a way of doing a custom loop but it's more expensive and just looks terrible. This build only has a single gpu added to it and you pay all that money for something that looks that awful.

I also only trust something that I put together myself but we are still at the mercy of the manufacturers quality control. I fell foul of this early last year when both my EK blocks started leaking due to failed Orings. It was only the odd drip so I caught it early and it was around the same time as the original Predators started leaking. The EK Supremacy EVO cpu block was less than 6 months old and the Thermosphere gpu block was just over a year old. EK's customer support was abysmal and he tried to blame everything other than the Orings. In the end I finally got the Oring sizes from EK Luc on here as customer support wouldn't give me them. I replaced all the Orings and no more leaks. Since then I have ditched EK because any company with abysmal customer support like I experienced doesn't deserve my custom. I have a Aquacomputer Aquagrafix GTX1070/1080 block on my gpu and have a Alphacool XPX ready to go on my cpu when I get around to building my pc into my desk.

I could not agree more with your statement on there customer service i have honestly never in my life been treated how they treated me.

This will go the same way as the EK predator did eventually, it will cost similar to a custom components but without the hassle for someone "Unsure".

But that's also a good thing I suppose ?

It is but you have to agree there is a certain sense of accomplishment of building a custom loop I've only built two minor ones about start on a dual custom loop system which will be far more difficult and hopefully feel good when it's done.

Maybe this will be the way forward and introduce many new people to watercooling but I can't see it myself. Either people already make custom loops or they have something like a AIO H100i and are happy with that. Don't think there is going be a huge market for this we all know big part of watercooling is aesthetics and this won't offer that.

Think biggest seller of this change in implementation is going be fans of GPU AIO solutions so whenever EK release a new block for a card they can simply get a AIO GPU instead of waiting months for stuff like MSI Seahawk or EVGA Hybrid cards. And have complete Waterblock and not just one for the core but also vram.

Thanks mate, I'll look into the prices for either ek supreme or raystorm pro and heatkiller iv, and decide eventually. would like both performance and aesthetics to come into consideration with this loop.

Hi John!

Ek Is maybe the most "High street" famous brand at the moment, I think the problem is people just automatically assume that makes it great.
they seem to be having a few QC issues of recent.

Best bet John I would make your own post on your new build and we can give your advice there, this post might get losty under the original topic conversation :)

D5 Pumps are generally considered quiet so should be good there.
with 2 x 480 MM rad you will be able to run your pc almost passively (On the rad fans at least)

Hope it helps!

sadly for another 480 rad and 8x eloops or vardars it's going to be very expensive so might skip that to a later date, but still in need of TITAN X Pascal Block, CPU block, about 10 compression fittings, a pump 1000+ L/h, pump top and reservoir that fits onto the pump , cilinder one for aesthetics and to fit in my Enthoo Primo Phanteks.

I've tested Koolance QD3, QD4 and Alphacool Eiszapfen and Koolance QD3 is still best overall. Not that bad on flow rates per pair.

Looking forward to see if these will be any good. If they are they will come with a 5 year warranty. Will wait until Volta and grab one which will give me time to hear any reports of leaks.

I wonder what the delay is here? Seems odd they announced this back in January but there has been no news since. I'm sure they want to avoid a repeat of Predator leaks, not to mention they were somewhat imperfect products to begin with. Hopefully this new range doesn't turn out to be a disappointment.

Agreed.

If they are going to be using the same QDC's a modular loop is going to look absolutely awful.
True but historically speaking watercooling always looked awful, that was one of the tradeoffs you made for superior cooling/noise, it's only relatively recently that good looking parts have come out and people have started caring about aesthetics. The whole point of these type of products is to make watercooling easier for beginners, and making it notably more expensive by using parts with an aesthetic premium could put people off.

My guess would be they realised that the lineup would be made somewhat obsolete by the launch of their aluminium series, so maybe are planning to launch these parts in aluminium instead and were waiting for availability /shrug.

EK told me this:

EK - Phoenix will be available for ordering on approx. 1st of November 2017
