Hi

It's early days yet, but I posted this said Phone via RMSD by 1pn on Saturday 14 January, with a guaranteed delivery date of 16 January (Today) according to the tracker, now would this still be the case, despite being posted on Saturday?

Anyhow one the tracker thing and this is about as much information as Royal Mail have provided:

14/01/17 14:12 ITEM COLLECTED MANCHESTER MAIL CENTRE
14/01/17 11:15 SENT AT POST OFFICE437 - 443 Oldham OL16 4SZ

And that is where the tracker ends. Nothing since Manchester Mail Centre.

Now why do I get the feeling this Handset has vanished? The eBay buyer says they haven't received it.

Said item is iPhone 6S Plus 16gb

Guess all I can do is sit this out?

Is there any way to gauge what percentage of RMSD Mail does go missing?

I do hope it's just running late and not anything beyond this.

Never had this before.

You can start the ball rolling on the claim. It's probably better for everybody if it did go missing - you get reimbursed from the insurance, and the eBay buyer doesn't have a chance to try and screw you.

Miranda on Live Chat @ RM said I can't do anything until January 23

How do I value the item, should the worst does happen?

Against brand new pricing? Or just what it went for on eBay? Miranda seems to think I would have to forward a brand new equivalent price should I have to claim. Surely not?

Thanks thus far Caged :)

Makes life easier as different Websites all have different prices.

I guess I will just put any potential claim against my auction listing. Not quite sure why they'd want to know new prices, unless they don't mind leaving me further quids in.

Thanks :)

To quote RM when I did a claim:

"Proof of the items value must show what you sold the item for e.g. till receipt, bank statement, PayPal transaction page etc."

OK Print out of any PayPal payment and eBay auction listings is easy enough.

Just all in the capable Hands of RM to either further fail me, or deliver.

Cheers Neil :)

- Neil was your claim recently? Did it go smoothly until payout?

Chances are it will show up - I had a UPS parcel from Germany show as out for delivery on a Monday in November, with nothing on the tracking until Thursday when it was delivered.

We do a lot of Special deliveries. In the last 3 months out of a rough 100 about 10 have been delayed. Never lost but delayed but 2-3 days.

A lot RMSD gets transported by air, so if the flight gets cancelled because of weather you're SOL.

From Manchester to say Cardiff is done by Air?

If there is a delay then I guess I am ok to claim the Postal costs back?

I wouldn't know where to begin with blacklisting the Phone should I need to. It was to begin with a Vodafone Handset, that they unlocked free of charge. Would one await any claim payment first then do it? Speaking hypothetically ofcourse.

I sent two items RMSD last Friday for delivery on Monday and they were both delivered on Saturday even though I didn't pay the extra so it's pot luck I guess.

I usually send everything Collectplus and they were extremely helpful when I had to make a claim and paid out within 7 days straight to my Paypal account when an item went missing.

But he didn't sell it, it was a present he sent to a relative ;) Therefore he should send RM the original purchase recpt and he gets refunded that amount.

I will give it a while longer, be it that it was posted on Saturday Morning.

But on all eBay sales, would a PayPal transaction printout be enough for a claim with Royal Mail?

Dunno in this specific case but I've had stuff go by air for distances like that as it goes like 1/3rd the distance the other way on a van to a hub, goes from the hub by air to a hub that is like 1/3rd the distance the other side of the destination and then from there on a van again to the destination lol.
