Simply put my Samsung F8500 plasma just died and I need to replace.

Looking for something 65 to 75 inches. Happy to pay a few thousand.

Prefer no curve (but not a show stopper), don't care about sound as will use external system. Don't care about smart features. Don't care about thickness or electronic usage.

Like good picture quality.

Just read the panels are the same in the range? If so the B will be fine I guess

Electronics play a big part in picture quality and the more expensive sets have better electronics.

It's why sony are doing well buying their panels from others but making them perform better within the LCD market albeit far more expensive.

I get that but I imagine the electronics within the LG range don't vary too much. Sorry should have made it clear I meant within LG

I've not read into it but I imagine higher models have better image processing and filters. at least that's what it was like when plasma was about. I haven't done much research on OLED's as I think they are still too new and too expensive atm.

Panasonic had the same panels in the UT, ST, GT and VT however they offered differences in PQ due to different image processing and filters.

I imagine there must be a difference between them otherwise why charge more for 1 over others?

The E6 and G6 have 3D.
B6 has single tuner for Freesat, E6 and G6 have twin tuners
E6 and G6 have better audio (built in soundbars, effectively)
E6 and G6 have a 'picture on glass' screen, which might look cosmetically better to some people, but doesn't change the image quality.

OP said he doesn't need the audio as (like me) he has a separate external system and only cares about picture quality

Therefore, the B6 is the no-brainer.

Shame I cant wait for this years model, but then looks like I have haggled John Lewis down to £2.5k, so I guess they will cost a lot more if I waited.
