where did ThermalRight go?

ThermalRight went through a period of copying other peoples designs or releasing new products with no innovation*

New companies came along and gobbled up the market share that wanted it more.

Are they still releasing new cooling products or.....?
Thermalright is still out there, just no retailers in UK right now. There are some available on the river.

Could you please give us some examples of Thermalright "copying other peoples designs or releasing new products with no innovation."

Sorry, but if you are posting false / incorrect statements, lack of sleep is not no excuse. :p

Thermalright are not Thermaltake.

Thermalright make alright heatsinks and fans.

Thermaltake see products they like and take the designs and mass produce cheap versions.

That's a shame if Thermalright aren't around anymore (at least in the UK). Have great memories of my Silver Arrow - lively imposing looking beastie, low temperatures and pretty much no noise. Would still be running it if my GPU cooling hadn't encroached onto its space requiring a change.

They were embroiled a couple of years back in a case copying scandal.
You are so full of it your eyes are brown!

That was Thermtakenot Thermalright.

You can tell them apart by remember that Thermtake is often Thermalfake us take take take and fake as much as possible.

Thermalright builds it right, does it right and does the right things.

edit: LOFL I saw Jokester's post and had to reply .. didn't see Disco P's until after I posted.

Thermalright is alive and well. Their TRUE Spirit 140 Power is a beast of a single tower that is as good as twin towers like D-14, TC14PE, etc. Haven't managed to test an etc. yet though. They are hard to get ahold of. :D

The newest Thermalright are use heatpipes in direct contact with CPU IHS and are amazingly good for their size.

You thermaltook my idea!

You thermaltook my idea!
But I elaborated on it much better!

Thermalright still have some of the best coolers out there. Silver Arrow SB-E, Le Grand Macho, TRUE Spirit 140 Power, True Spirit 140 Rev. A, Macho Rev.B, AXP-100H, etc. (especially the etc. ones)

Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme was my first cooler I used to learn about overclocking back in the Core 2 Duo era with E6320, E8400 and E8700.
I now still have an unused Thermalright Venomous X RT just for the sake of good old time (what is the correct word?). :D

Thermaltake in the other hand....

I have an Ultra 120. The 4 pipe model. It's still in use on my server. Also have an IFX-14 with the HR-10 cooler for back of CPU socket and a Cogage Arrow .. from before Silver Arrow and NH-D14 were born. :D

Was using Thermalright Shaman up until a few weeks ago and would if honest still be using it today if it fitted my GTX 970 without having to use a PCI-e riser card. Brilliant cooler and innovative. Still use the fan off it ghetto tied on to GPU. They used to build all those vrm coolers as well, crazy stuff.

Had a Thermaltake cooler back in the day, it was ghastly. Whined and made more noise than stock.

No comparison.

It's interesting to see how every post talks about how good Thermalright is
and how bad Thermaltake is.

I'm using the new Thermalright TRUE Spirit 140 Direct on my stock i7 6700K now. Before I was using TRUE Spirit 140 rev.A and before that TRUE Spirit 140 Power. On stock CPU I see little to no difference between them. Of course CPU is <100w and I'm pretty sure if I was pushing >200w into these coolers a difference would likely be seen. Probably not much between Power and Rev.A, but TRUE Spirit 140 Direct is much small and 1 less heatpipe. Both Power and Rev. A have 110x155x53mm fin packs with Power having 6x8mm heatpipes vs 6x 6mm heatpipes in Rev.A. Direct finpack is 113x140x42mm with 5x 6mm heatpipes.

I'm currently using a Le Grand Macho RT. Brilliant build quality and the included TY-147B fan is very quiet, which was a pleasant surprise as I'm very fussy when it comes to fan noise.

Both Thermalright TY and X-Silent series fans are great! Good airflow and low noise.

It is amazing how the Le Grand Macho which is same basic design as HR-22 with one less heatpipe and set back a little more yet performs better than HR-22. I could find no difference in build quality, and I tested both several times. The LGM is definitely better than HR-22.

The HR-02 / Macho series with 140mm fans are also very good coolers.
