****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

Well I've had almost two weeks off around Christmas and after NYE, came back to a few horrible days and currently travelling and realise how much I don't miss it. There are many changes that are overdue and think I've been playing it for a few months simply out of habit.

Proposed changes do all sound positive but it's a case of how long it takes for all of them to come through. See how I feel about this in a few months although ironic part is that I've spend money on the game for the first time since 2012.

The AFK is getting out of hand now. Its weird that they a
ll seem to on one side in a game. Often see 4 or 5 in a game now. All on one side.

The MM is a problem. Theres a handful of tanks that are useful when matched 2 tiers higher. So gold is the balance. You wouldn't need it if the tiers were better matched.

Are you basing this on 0 damage or actually checking the number of people in the starting base midway through a battle?

I can't remember the last time I saw more than 2 of either team AFK. Some people rush off get ammo racked and do no damage or are generally useless and do no damage. It is pretty common that 5-6 people on the losing team do no damage.

Some people are AFK for the first minute or so but eventually wake up.

Yeah I'm calling them AFK but yeah they could just be useless. How about AFB (away from Brain)

But isn't it odd that there are so many one sided matches, and heavily one sided. I would have thought the MM would take into account how many AFB players and balance them.

For me it seems to mainly happen to the same vehicle, like the Skorp, or Rev. My Tiger for example get much better balanced MM. Perhaps I'm paranoid.

I expect they are bots. AFK players sometimes get some spotting damage as they are killed. if anyone else is defending the base. Of course sometimes there no one left.

the game is broken.

Too many bots
To many 15 - 1 victories
To many 15 - 1 defeats
I don't know who on earth designed the MM algo but they must be sacked....to continue their drug habit
The game is too much of a frustration for me now..I have ended up deserting a few games out of shear annoyance. I might just stop altogether. It is beyond annoying and no longer fun.

What does the advert say....when the fun stops....stop ?

Food for thought.

Stopped playing more than 3 weeks ago after 5 1/2 years, and feeling much better.
I am not playing this any more just for the sake of been frustrated.

Contemplating if I can sell my account also, but idk how much. (with the email account also, which I do not care about).
And I have a lot of good premium tanks (Type62, Skorpion G, IS6, VK4503, M41 90GF, the stayer borsig, T25, S35, and few more) and top of all a Type 59 too :)
In addition an Atago, Yubari and several of more premium ships coming with the WoWs acc. (I will bundle them both together)

Selling your account is a good way to make sure you stop playing for good. I suspect it would be worth hundreds. Every time is start something I think I should setup a dedicate email account so I can sell it on but I never do. My WoW acccount would have been worth £300+ when I finished. Would have got some for my Clash of Clans as well.

You get ups and downs playing WoT. My last two sessions I have won 18/25 in both of them which is great. The one before that I probably won 8/25.

I've been doing a bit of WoWS recently, it isn't as much fun for me but it is definitely more relaxing!

I just started on the Charioteer and I have never found a tank so frustrating. I really enjoyed the Challenger but this thing just seems to fit no role properly.

The long aim time, bad depression and slow turret make it terrible at snap shotting or ridge sniping, it has ZERO armour for any kind of front line role and the gun isn't massively reliable for long range sniping either.

You enjoyed the Challenger?

I've never tried it, I took one look at its 150 alpha and skipped it.

Tier 7 TDs have a damage scale which goes up to 700, at the very bottom is the Challenger. It doesn't even have extra dpm to make up for it.

Anyway, I may try it out of interest, I 3 marked the cgc out of interest a while back too.

As for the Charioteer you need the 105mm and the idea is you can relocate very quickly and have a nice gun plus a 360 turret at tier 8. Firing sideways with a corner peek and running away is a go.

Gun depression and turret speed is the lousy bit so while it looks like a medium it really won't work out if someone rushes you with better mobility. Also no armour, you exploit blind or vulnerable targets, can't facetank things.

I loved the challenger, it was extremely nippy and people never really prioritised you because they think you're a useless tank. I often did 3k+ damage in it with no premium ammo. The aim time was great too and the gun, while low on pen and damage was very reliable.

The Charioteer gun is, in theory fantastic but I find it missing a lot and even with a gun laying drive it just doesn't aim fast enough to use the mobility properly. I have had some good games in it but I find that even though a tactic works once, it won't be reliable and might fail miserably next time.

The turret being so slow hinders flanking too so I can't reliably do that.

Couldn't stand the Challenger, one of the most rage inducing things I've played. It's like an E-25 with the preferential MM removed, about 4 times the size and camo rating that disappears as soon as you fire your first puny 150 alpha shot. Playing it like a medium is well and good until you run into an actual medium tank at which point you're FUBARed.

The already underwhelming pen only gets worse over distances so don't be surprised when even the side of a T-34 gives you a bounce. Penetrating midly armoured tanks from the front is also a big no no for this so you're forced to flank where again, you run the risk of bumping into medium and light tanks who will dance circles around you. Do get the odd good game in it when enemy aren't aggressive and you can rack up the damage but a severe disappointment and merely an annoying stop along otherwise.

You cannot combine the mobility and attempting to shoot at the same time. It's cancerous and not because of the aimtime, it's because of the extremely slow turret and lack of stabiliser.

You use the speed to get to an advantageous position, pre-rotate the turret, take the shots you can then bail when you have to. Bonus points for rotating the turret to the right direction before you get there.

In most cases a game will start off with you dashing to get sight on an expected engagement point faster than most mediums and have your gun lined up before the enemy team arrives. When you get attention you back off behind heavier tanks or find another location to exploit.

Lets say Mines, you're the only TD in the game that can start by running to the middle and shooting a light tank from 50m, maybe with HESH. Every other TD is crawling along the edges because they don't have the speed or turret.

Other maps you might start by trying for ambush shots on heavies moving out and you can risk much closer range than other TD's because you have the speed to bail out.

The Charioteer with a gun laying drive + full brothers in arms crew and the tier X gun is devastating.

Your DPM can reach 2.8k dmg with under a 2sec aim time. With it's speed and view range you can snipe from max distance and if needed relocate really fast.

Alright then chaps, what game are we all migrating to :p

Went to Division last four weeks. Waiting for 1.5 update on Stellaris, Bretonnia on TWW (is free) and playing bit Elite also.

Also painting my Panoceania and Yu Jing during some sessions.

WOT was an addiction. The disease that stopped me playing any other game for more than an hour over the last 5 1/2 years.
And did a calc, I have clocked on it 9660 hours on it.

Honestly after moving, stopping to take a shot feels like an absolute eternity even with a GLD, especially waiting on the turret. I don't have a brothers in arms crew but that shouldn't make THAT much difference. With the long aim time and average accuracy 400M sniping isn't massively effective, especially in T10 battles.
