RX 480 or GTX 1060, can't decide!

On the link you posted, it shows 290mm for max video card length?

edit- I saw the side tech specs, it contradicts the image they also have, might be worth measuring yourself to see which is correct.

Is it an old case you're not really bothered about its pristine internal appearance?

Hmm, i hadn't spotted that, thanks for pointing it out. I'lle get it measured.

Tbf I run at 3840x1600 res and I haven't seen my ram usage pass 3600MB!! (AMD Fury)

Fury & FuryX HBM, support memory compression. When I was benching the GTX1080 against the Nano, on games and 3D Mark, the Nano was bit more than half (60-70%) the VRAM the GTX1080 needed.

eg XCOM 2 on Nano needed 3860MB on the GTX1080 needed 5070MB. Same settings and resolution. Similar figures applies on TW Warhammer etc.

Only the last Tomb Raider kicked more than 4GB and tank the Nano.
On the 1080 needed 6300MB to run!!!!

Thats a PC-P50R and the site review says the card is a 5970 which seems to be 300mm in length so you should be good, but yea I'd double check yourself.

Just measured my 5970 and it is 305mm.

Unfortunately I don't think that is a 5970 in the pic above.

I think it is probably a HD 5870 which was 282mm in length.

The card at the image IS the 5870 not the 5970, and is ~27.2cm long on the image.
And the max length that will support is ~284 at the lowest slot :)

And is very easy to measure from this pic with 1% margin of error :D

290 is higher up in the middle of the case indeed, but not where the metal pieces are at the low end.

Seems you're correct I read the review more closely (link) and the pic is of a 5870, but it does say a 5970 can fit dependent on hdd cage location.

Panos, I'm not sure that matter greatly. If the memory is available then why not use it if it helps the card reach optimal performance? The best use of memory would probably be to utilise as much as is available as long as that isn't detrimental to performance.
