Getting pretty sick of dog owners not clearing up after their pets.

Where does the law stand on this and is it dependent on the local council?

Any tips for deterrents?

I'm not anti-dog btw - i fully appreciate it's not their fault.

Usually an offence under local council by-laws. Good luck getting it enforced.

GD Answer involves a trowel and the dog owners' letter box or rubbing their nose in it.

I would watch for them, pick it up and freeze it, and then when I had enough pick one offender at random and fill their letterbox with it while they were at work.

and jokes aside, I am serious.

I'm going to give the local dog warden a buzz and ask for some further advice.

I'd read about the DNA sampling thing, but with all the cuts to local councils, how long before the plug is pulled?

Reckon the cops would be interested if I had CCTV footage?

Maybe work on getting it cleared up through the council and talk to them during/after about putting a sign up?

Idk. If you don't get anywhere and it is near your home.. personally I would pick it all up myself rather than live with it. Lecture a few dog walkers as they walk by, pretend to throw poo at them.

follow perpetrators home and something something letterbox.

dog owner here and its bloody disgusting that people don't clean up after their animals. i'd make a point of photographing everyone of them (obviously don't do it from you own property as that makes you an obvious target. either that or pick it up and throw it at them, whatever you want to do.

in more serious suggestions.

speak to local dog warden,
local land and environmental services(health hazard)
your local councilor
you local MP
any other local groups residents associations etc etc.
and most importantly any local papers (they love stuff like this on slow news days)

most of the above can be done by a couple of quick emails. i'd suggest running along the think of the children type lines

Why don't you lace the place with pepper or mustard or look for a specialsed substance, somebody must have thought this up. Mind you, pepper wouldn't last long in this weather.

CCTV camera to catch the perpetrators.

Then print out their pictures and attach to local lampposts.

Public shaming is pretty effective for this sort of thing.

You could setup a fake camera and print some fake pics if you don't want to upset the locals.

Least they do it on public grass. The mugs upstairs have a big dog and they let it pee and poop all over the communal grass where in summer mine and other kids like to play. Mentioned it and have several in the moment pics of said dog doing it to the property company but nothing changes. Even when they do pick it up they then pit it in the doggy bag bit leave it by the front entrance, which is 20 yards from where the bins are. They're scumbags

I wish I had enough time in my life to be concerned about dog **** on the floor. How old are you? If you are under 65 then you need to look at your life And wonder how you arrived at dog **** being on your agenda :D.
