I've tried googling but its hard to get a consistent number.

I have a Corsair CX600M which has 46A on 12v rail. I have the chance of a super cheap GTX690, will my PSU be able to power it?

Looking at reviews they put total system power draw between 450w and 502w. That is going to vary according to the rest of the system though and doesn't include overclocking. Seeing as your psu only has 552w on the 12v rail and the fact that it has poor quality internals I personally wouldn't be running one off a CX600M.

Nvidia's site has 650W as minimum and EVGA's site shows theirs needs 38A on the 12V so you might be okay. If that PSU really does have poor internals I wouldn't risk it.

Thanks I won't risk it then.

How cheap is super cheap?

I say that because a 2gb (effective) card probably isn't a good buy.

Would have been £50, told him to flog it on ebay.

For £50 it's a no brainer in fairness. I'd take it even just to fool around with. Will still drive most games at 1080p ultra fairly well, SLI support dependent, which is a lot of performance for £50.

Up until recently I ran 2x 670s in SLI on an old 600W OCZ modXstream PSU for the best part of 2 years with no issues. Rest of spec as in my sig.
