Back on topic, i would suspect it's faulty.

With a number of the tools mentioned in this thread i wouldn't have expected none to have failed. Have you had it long? send back for replacement?

Ahhhh it's a stationary store - although one i've never heard of.

Was literally sat here doing an anagram, until eventually google say "did you mean xyz"

Really seems like it's borked if no partition software can fix it. They all seem to be able to see the drive but can't create a new partition with any file system. Deleting the files on there shouldn't have caused it though, I had a few sandisk USBs and SD cards with the same bundled stuff and reformat via Windows always worked fine for me.

Given up on it, if nothing else I've discovered some interesting tools!

I'm going to grab another from OC/UK and let him sort his faulty one out.

It's always been able to recover a USB sticks where Diskpart would fail.

Thanks, I'll give that a whirl.

Replaced it this afternoon with a new one from OC/UK (and a couple of rather huge mouse mats!) and the new one works a treat.
