Going to Manchester this week and looking for some real ale pubs within walking distance of Piccadilly station. Anyone been to anywhere decent thats worth checking out?

If you're there at weekend then head to Cloudwaters brewery tap. They brew some of the absolute best beers around at the moment and are a friendly bunch.

Northern Quarter - Crown and Kettle, Bar Fringe, Smithfield Tavern, Marble Arch, Cafe Beermoth, Port Street Beer House (nearer Picc.)

Has Beermoth got a cafe now? I was in the other week but never noticed. I've always just thought it was a bottleshop.

Port Street is excellent though.

Yeah, they do but it's at a separate location - make sure you search maps for beermoth cafe not just beermoth!

No1 Watson Street.
Piccadilly Taps (Next door to train station)
Port Street Beer House
Alphabet Brew Co (Open the doors on the brewery)
The Pilcrow (fairly new, some excellent beers)
Cafe Beermoth
Microbar in Arndale MArket

Mention also to Albert Schloss just to try their unpasteurised tank Urquell.
