Gahhhh!!!!

To solve an issue I was having with the iDrive in the F10, under warranty, the updated the iDrive and Nav to the latest version.

Sadly, I now seen to be missing the option to import from USB. I can backup and restore from USB, but that's it. It's like it's been coded out. The car had a whole day of coding.

I only have the one USB in the armrest which does (or did) both play and import....

Just wondered if something had changed in a later version...

It's there on mine though frankly I can't imagine why you'd ever use it given a half decent memory stick is much bigger and less hassle.

I don't think I get the album art when coming from USB....

Yeah, had a similar experience with my CLS. After a trip to dealer to fix an online traffic issue when only a few weeks old, latest software update nerfed the 'musc register' or whatever they call it......MB said it was something to do with copyright issues or some meh....but, as has been said above, a decent flashdrive does the job anyway.

We have an F30 and I have a major gripe with the USB playback, I have a thumb drive in the USB port with over 1300 songs and it keeps playing the same 15 or so songs on a loop, when I change the song manually it plays about 3 different songs and then loops back to the same songs again, driving us mad!!!

Car is due in for a service on Monday so going to ask them what they recommend (as we are going to see if they will put in a fixed wire for the dash cam).

If it were Vauxhall, VW, Audi, Merc etc., I suspect your comment would go a little like this :p

How backwards, LOLOLOL! Why remove a feature if was there in the first place? LOL AUDI

Well it wouldn't as the feature hasn't been 'removed' - you wouldn't deliberately remove all access to the inbuilt music storage. It'll be a screwup.

That said, honestly, the feature seemed like a great idea in 2008 but these days I'm amazed anyone uses it :p

I still have the option to save a cd to hard drive on my car. Everything was updated when they fitted my towbar a few months ago although mine is CIC not NBT.

Pfft, mines defo gone. I think when they've done the update, they've not coded the armrest USB back in, although it can play from it. The only options I have are:

Memory Available
Delete Music
Backup on USB Drive
Restore from USB Drive

I'm reluctant to get my E-SYS out to have a look, so it should go back, but its the hassle really.
