Whats up guys im Rob from TechRage and i wont start with ranting on about my channel trying to get visitors as thats not the reason im here!

I dont pretend to know everything there is to know about computers or even tech so been able to come over here and get useful advice is always great!

Basicly I have just got the RaiJinTek Paean case from OCUK so i can put together a decent test bench for me to be able to benchmark products on my channel as and when they come... IE graphics cards, sounds cards, IO devices, Hard drives blah blah blah

What id love from you guys is some advice on what parts would make sence to buy...

Heres my thoughts
--Cosair 850x PSU (Enough power for benching things?)
--Z270 Motherboard (but not a clue what one)
--i7 6800k (Thinking skylake for price as Kabilake is still silly money)
--GTX 1080 (Not sure if i even need this much power if im going to be testing other cards anyways)
--G-Skill Trident Ram (Would also like to bench test some ram in the future)
--Samsung 850 Evo SSD

Anyways thats a list of the things i had in mind... not sure what anyone else things. Ill start off by air cooling the whole system but will move onto a custom watercool loop once i have things set up better

Although getting money is an upside of been a good youtuber at the moment its a hobby and something to do in my down time thats not sitting in front of the TV

Iv been doing it 3 months now and will have video 12 uploaded in an hour of the case i just said about. I have 315 Subscribers now and over 40k video views so really happy with how things are moving... I would love to get to the stage where companys are able to support and sponsor me to help with my love for Tech and improve the channel content

What is your budget?

Is this PC going to be used daily by yourself?
If not then there is not much point of a GTX 1080, a test bench as far as I have ever seen usually just involves a CPU, motherboard, RAM and an SSD.

depends what you plan to test on your channel?

a thought of mine when i ever have the money was to have multiple systems of various specs for testing games on(actually was using the system in my sig, but for graphic cards only in various games, did have certain older systems at the time for comparison) but my hobby idea is from old to new just for the fun of it lol, if your going to test products then whatever your base system starts out as you need to make sure of its compatibility so you dont buy/get given items that wont work for that sense alone.

like cex, they can only test certain stuff when you go to trade in due to their limitations of pc hardware.

oh and i assume you are a talker in your videos? i started a youtube channel last year, only got a few videos on, but i started out with graphics cards, now do xbox one gaming videos, but i dont speak as it would go against my name i chose lol, only spoke once or twice for overwatch free weekend on xb1(voice over when i edited it with console app) and my only sub is myself from another account i had just to use youtube rather than become a tuber lol, seems you need to talk and ideally be visual more than the content itself.

Not that I'm an expert, but yes, of course you can't (shouldn't) just throw a video up and expect to grow a channel. I often find it annoying how little effort some people put into their videos, but then go round asking people to sub.

At the same time, I've seen some fantastically well made videos and the guy has a very small subscriber base.

Haha its not a case of not been able to spec a PC... for gaming and performance we all know what we need but for bench marking things can be a little different

No i wont be using the PC day to day at all... it will just be for the channel mainly

I think thats good advice biz kid about getting the CPU, motherboard, RAM and an SSD... As i can then test my first graphics card and get to grips with things

Thanks for taking the time to look at my videos Andy... like i said im not here to get subs or views although that would be amazing. Its all about building a community and learning

if the top part was aimed towards me, then while i did have that expectation months ago when i started with pc game testing using free copy of wondershare to edit, my xbox videos are for fun mostly, i use the built in game recorder and the upload studio app which has its limitations as to what you can do on more proper software, i still got videos to edit and upload before i forget the reason behind them

but if it wasnt aimed at me then i still agree you cant just throw some videos up and hope to make it instantly, it seems you have to be a blogger/vlogger and present the videos rather than being a voice.

TheSilentGameTestR is my youtube account which is why i dont speak lol, in FH3 i have a few cars i use often with my tag on certain parts of the cars ha because my live is a different name.

i dont ask for subs either, i dont likw those people who pester, i couldnt even figure out the adsense part, so even if people viewed and liked i wouldnt know if i was even earning :D.
