How do you find time to adult and game?

On the upside, i save a fortune in games and pc upgrades as i have such a huge backlog of older games i still haven't completed/started as my time for gaming got less after moving in with my partner 6 years ago. I never buy games on release now and by the time i get them my modest PC can play them pretty much maxed.

Just recently i moved the PS3 out of the living room into the office and am finding a little bit of time to play in the evenings. Just finished The Last Of Us and am most of the way through Red Dead Redemption. Will start working through the Uncharted series next as that's another one that passed me by. On PC, I've just finished Wolfenstein and am about to start Deus Ex Human Revolution.

I treat gaming as a hobby so I make the time to play but it's not at the top of the priority list.

Few hours in the weeknights and on weekends if I want. Prefer to spend time with my boy when he's over tbh and if the weathers nice pop out somewhere.

Missus is great, don't have any problems because from day one I've done it and not once have a told her she can't do anything she likes so it's always worked.

Funny thing is...if I could spend 8 hours everyday gaming I probably wouldn't want to. I look forward to playing when it's a few hours here and there.

Since changing jobs to a 9-5 mon-fri job, I seem to get less time to game than I did before when I was doing the same amount of hours but shift work which could vary from 6am to 10pm all week. Used to spend days off in the week gaming, but now when I have days off on the weekend I can't seem to get into gaming, as I always seem to be visiting family.

The wife works nights so try to grab a bit of time when she goes to work at 8pm on the nights she works.

However this is all going to change now, as the wife just started maternity leave, and we will have a daughter on the way soon.

Surely those with kids their bedtime is around 7pm? So unless you go to bed ridiculously early you would have a good several hours 'free time'?

I think i have found a good mix of work/home/gaming,

My daily schedule:

07:30 wake up and get ready for work
08:00 leave for work
08:30 arrive at work
17:30 finish work
18:00 arrive home
19:00 dinner cooked and eaten
20:00 - 22:00 watch TV with mrs
22:00 - 00:00 gaming time (mrs on phone or in bed).
00:00-00:30 do dishes
00:30 bed

The thing is, you need to make some times for your partner otherwise what's the point in having one? (This is for those who don't have gaming partners).

If I didn't have any other hobbies it wouldn't be as much of a problem.

My Mrs does enjoy gaming with me sometimes but it's a really painful/frustrating experience, haha.

My other half doesn't really game anymore, however we put a sofa and a TV in my "office" so we can enjoy each others company its just I'm at my desk and she's on the sofa :D

same here, for my hobbies don't have time. Don't have time to cook proper meal once I get home it's too late.

and I don't have kids. god knows how people can have a decent income, not work stupid hours, and have time for kids and family.

THIS (I have kids too) feel like a terrible dad sometimes, just want a few minutes to relax / game / unwind. Things aren't like they used to be, this is how I know I'm old, despite my subconscience screaming "I'm young" "I am" "I'm young"

If I get any time off and kids are st school, sellotape eyelids and fight through the pain. bloodshot eye gaming is the only way

Game while the Mrs watches her endless sky tv . Maybe an couple hours every other night ad watch our TV for an hour or 2, then don't really game on weekend like to get out and about . Imagine this will change when kids come along .. :(
