NVIDIA Announces New Game Bundle, Requires GeForce Experience to Activate

I was going to say 'maybe they are aimed at people who don't like gaudy black and red gamer styling' but then I clicked the link. Yep, black and red again.
:D
I think they did a version of the dcu2 290x where they gave an all black shroud with coloured stickers so you could choose your colouring, They should have continued doing that, Red and Black is getting a bit old now.

NVIDIA Game Bundle Activation Clarification:

Game coupon codes that are bundled with a qualifying GPU or PC purchase are intended for use by the purchaser. Repurposing the code is a violation of the bundle’s terms and conditions. As part of the coupon redemption process, NVIDIA uses GeForce Experience to perform a hardware verification step to ensure the coupon code is redeemed on the system with the qualifying GPU.

Terms and conditions state that a valid bundle redemption must be tied to a qualifying GPU purchase. If the game is separated from the GPU purchase, this becomes a violation of the terms and conditions and NVIDIA wouldn’t be able to offer the game.

But we had some questions surrounding selling these codes, which we know happens quite often, and hopefully we can clear some of the confusion up about this.

If I sell that code to someone else...it will require GFE for activation, correct?

Yes.

• Graphics Card Requirements- Some coupons can only be redeemed on selected graphics cards. These coupons are typically tied to a graphics card purchase or promotional giveaway. Please make sure your graphics card is installed before redemption.

• Regional/Country Requirements- Some coupons require that they be redeemed in specific regions or countries. Please redeem the code in the appropriate region/country.

• Age Requirements - Some coupons have age restrictions due to sensitive content. Please check that your NVIDIA Account meets the age requirement

What if that person has a 980 or 960 card? Since that game code came with a 1070, will it work with a 980 or 960?

Or does the code require a 1070/1080 card to be redeemed?

One of the main reasons I'm hoping Vega is awesome is the prospect of moving away from GFE, I have put up with a lot of crap from Nvidia (and ATi-AMD) over the years but intentionally crippling their drivers unless you sign into them with a social media account is stupid.

I don't like the sound of that, There's websites I can't visit because they only allow signing in thru Facebook, I haven't got a facebook account and don't really want one.

Another example of unreasonable demands is with Steams verification system, A year or so ago I was looking through the backgrounds market on Steam and found that one was for sale for over 30 quid, It was one that I had so I undercut him for a laugh and put it up for 22 quid and it sold the same day. 22 pounds for a Steam background, Crazy! That got me interested in background sales so I started watching them and they often sell for as much as a games season pass, sometimes more. A few months ago I bought a set of cards for a newly released game and luck got me the rare background and someone was offering a tenner for it in the market so I tried selling it to him just to find that I was no longer allowed to do immediate sales unless I used a smart phone to sign in for account verification every week, I haven't got a smartphone so I cant do that and had to watch as he got sold the background by someone else with a no access account, That also got me interested in the sort of money changing hands so I continued to watch the background sales and found that the majority of big background sales are done by accounts that block all access to them, That's not a total surpise as I myself do it for strangers it just seemed odd that every time someone put a high bid request for a new to market background it was a no-access account that sold them the background, From that I came to the conclusion that Steam has fake accounts which are used to sell backgrounds when big money is offered for them, It's crazy when you think about how much they can sell for, Most go for pennies but sometimes when a new game releases you get people putting in requests at £20, £30, £40 or even more so they can have the latest background on their Steam account. And it's a bigger shame how the sales are being controlled.

The way Nvidia treat customers is why I went AMD for my current card. Best card I've bought in years tbh (XFX 480gtr xxx). AMD's drivers are now better than Nvidia's and theres no other BS, like lying about how much usable vram is on the card (as they did with the 970 and it's 3.5gb ram). As well as seemingly unfixable driver issues such as the TDR error, which has been going on for years.

If the game is somehow tied to the original card not just model, wonder what happens when you change your card, either upgrade or get a replacement...

I'd imagine as long as you redeem the code whilst you have the accompanying GPU installed, then switching GPU's won't matter as the game has already been redeemed.

I doubt it operates like always on DRM. Just a one time verification thing.

Why they care about reselling game codes I don't know.... But they must have their reasons.

You keep insisting that AMD's drivers are better than NVidia's but where are you gathering this fact from? I can't recall the last big issue that I have had with NVidia or AMD and the 970 had 4GB of VRAM and ran great for me and many others. Not sure why you keep insisting on this train of posting but it is tiresome reading.

I have had a code sent to me today from the company i bought my GT73VR 7RF laptop from , as good a will gesture as i bought the laptop before the promotion began. they sent me a free laptop bag worth £20 with my machine but my Titan pro don't fit it , so they sent me a code instead and a £12 refund.

My problem is i have no interest in the game FOR HONOR , and i have the Ghost Recon Wildlands on pre-order (present from partner) . so this means i can not sell the code on ?

I could in a way ask my partner to get refund on pre-order then use the code but dont want to hurt her feelings .
