Is it possible that some mobile apps that a person might download and start to use would be a for a trial period and if such an app was not deleted after that trial period it might start charging you ?

thanks :)

If it asked for payment information at the start then yes. Some people are lazy to read the first bits when opening the app for the first time and can sometimes accidentally allow apps to start a subscription service charging your Google/Apple account monthly.

I remember reading about a really sneaky app doing this on Reddit but can't remember which app this was. Has something like "Start your trial now" and then in smaller text stating the subscription fees underneath.

EDIT: Found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/5m0il1/psa_the_app_colorfy_tries_to_trick_you_into_a/

OK thanks Orcvader :)

It's all a bit strange lol...unless someone is getting into the girl child's google account for which we have been on to Google about it , it's 100s of £'s that has been spent over a period of time .
