I have a 4770k PC upstairs that I use as my office machine and I have a 6600k downstairs for gaming.

PC upstairs you press power and flick of lights from front of case and nothing.

1st - Took PSU from PC downstairs and still nothing
2nd - Ordered new motherboard and installed. PC now turns on but screen says no signal
3rd - Try using HDMI port and DVI port on motherboard with no GFX in, same No signal but PC seems to stay on fine
4th - Put GTX770 from gaming PC downstairs still shows no signal
5th - Put gaming PC on monitor (Check monitor) all seems fine (HDMI only tested)
6th - Tried PC with only 1 RAM stick etc... Same seems to be fine but shows no signal

WTF should I do? Could it be the CPU? Even tho PC seems to run, I cant think what easy tests I can do now without buying anything new?

Please help, Thanks in advance

Anyone one? I tried new RAM, Tried a CMOS reset and a new battery.
Only thing I have not changed is CPU and I cant believe its that. Anything I can try before spending on a new CPU and if its that I have a spare PC bar a CPU!

I'm confused as to what "you press power and flick of lights from front of case and nothing" means?

Does it boot up? Can you hear the hard drives loading etc? Do the fans spin?

Take out the RAM and try to let it boot, you should hear a series of beeps. Try and post here what the pattern is, there should be a series of short or long beeps if there's an error somewhere. Also, what Mobo is it using?

So that statement was in regard to LED lights on case fans.

Now I have changed the Mobo the PC runs, but I have the "No Signal" on monitor issue. The GFX card works in my other pc so pretty sure its not that, and put my other gfx card in and that is same.

Have you tried disconnecting all hard drives / optical drives?

When I killed my 3570k by a botched delid, my pc would power up, fans would spin but that was all, so symptoms do fit with a dead CPU I guess, though that would be highly unusual of course...

Cheers. At least it could be that. Yeah just taken my SSD from my other pc that I know works. I will boot up with no RAM and see if I get any beeps

Sorry if silly, but I presume you have tried a different HDMI cable (or tested the existing one elsewhere to prove it works)?

Edit - sorry see you tried DVI and HDMI so presumably you have?

Have you tried removing & re-seating the CPU?

The motherboard is far more likely to fail than the CPU is due to the high power/electrolytic capacitors, but this is the only thing I can suggest without buying anything.

The motherboard is likely to be cheaper than the CPU, which also makes it the cheaper option to replace.
