Hi all,

Just wanting to know the best way to remove this red paint underneath the window:

The material seems to be stone, the paint is peeling. I don't think it will sand off.... but could be wrong, If I just paint over it, it will look a mess.

I was considering trying to remove some with a scraper, or the other option is to fill it with something to make it level.

Any ideas?

Did mine not so long ago, looked similar with multiple old layers of paint. I used a pressure washer first which lifted and loosened much of it, then a strong wire brush along with a metal scraper. Came up a treat.

Need to do the same thing myself soon so thanks op for the post and anyone who has replied.

Hahah, yeah I know, to be honest I took the photo a while ago, I uploaded it the other day and was looking going, is the pointing really that bad? Had to go out and check.

Probably get it looked at when we get the pointing at the back done, a friend already told me it looked like at the back of the house the wrong mixture was used.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

Starchem Synstrip. Absolutely lethal stuff mind. The fumes are very strong but it makes Nitromors seem like baby lotion.
